In the finale of The Night Agent Season 3, Peter Sutherland finally hunts down the Treasury Agent who escaped with pivotal intel in Istanbul. Soon, he learns that the global dark money network isn't a shadowy organisation; it is run secretly by the US government. Peter is torn between choices. On one hand, he could expose the global scam and the US government himself, or he could stay quiet and pass on the data to Isabel de Leon and complete Catherine Weaver's mission too. He chose the second option. He leaked the information to Isabel, the journalist, not to compromise his position inside the Night Action.

In the finale, Peter manages to save Chelsea from being killed by Adam. Upon President Hagan's orders, Adam makes a plan to kill Chelsea. Hagan wanted to kill Chelsea because she knew several of their secrets that could compromise the President's position. After a brutal chase, Peter finally confronts Adam and convinces him not kill Chelsea.

Elsewhere, President Hagan and the First Lady Jenny Hagan are finally exposed for the money laundering scam. They used those funds to help Hagan become the president.

The Assassin brutally kills Freya at a bar. The Assassin manages to trick Freya and slips some poison into Freya's drink. Even though they do not show what exactly happens to Freya after that, it is highly possible that she's dead.

The Night Agent Season 4: Potential plot and theories

Peter chooses to pass on the information about the US government's association with the dark money network to the relentless journalist Isabella. This move keeps his position in the Night Action secure. He realises that to expose the rot further and fix the entire system, he needs to be a mole. The finale leaves us with several cliffhangers, but most importantly, Peter is no longer a naive agent; he is working on three fronts. But the situation puts him at risk. If Monroe somehow finds out that Peter leaked the data, he's dead. Peter's short phone call to Diane Farr at the end of the finale reveals that the game has only begun.

In the end, the series also left us wondering who might be Peter's partner next. Mosley tells Peter that he desperately needs a break. It seems like Mosley has put in his resignation. Meanwhile, Isabel decides to take a break and travel to Barcelona. Mosely reveals he has thought of his successor already. Can it be Chelsea? We have seen the duo's partnership during tough situations. Can it be Rose? Even though she was mentioned a few times, she didn't appear. Or is it someone new? We'll have to wait for that.
