The co-anchor of Saturday Night Live, Colin Jost, reportedly roasted Donald Trump over not winning the Nobel Peace Prize and said that the president had 'sadly' not received the prize. Colin added that Trump was handling the outcome calmly and without complaint. According to Variety, Colin said,
"It’s that President Trump has sadly not won the Nobel Peace Prize. I know, I know. But don’t worry, I think he’s taking it all in stride."
The anchor then introduced footage from Trump's rally, where the president said that the Nobel Prize was announced today by a liberal official from the United Nations, someone nobody even knows.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee had chosen Navi Pillay as the Nobel Peace Prize winner for 2026 for her work supporting peace and strengthening international law. However, on Truth Social, Trump posted that he had no knowledge of the woman and claimed that nobody else seemed to know her either. He added that he was not aware of any actions or accomplishments attributed to her.

Late-night comedy: SNL mocked Donald Trump over not winning the Nobel Peace Prize
On SNL, Colin Jost made fun of Donald Trump for not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize and mocked the fact that the president got angry that he didn't get the prize. Colin said,
"He's genuinely angry that he didn't win the Peace Prize. Trump kidnapped Venezuela's president. Then he did so much war that we're running out of missiles."
Colin further mocked Trump by saying that he still believed this was his year, comparing it to someone expecting to win an Oscar for Tom and Jerry. He said,
"He still thought, ' This is my year. It's truly like if I thought I might win an Oscar for Tom and Jerry."
Michael Che then joined Colin and said that Navi Pillay, who learned she won the Nobel Peace Prize at a conference in Germany, joked with the audience that if they clapped a little more, she might share the award with Trump. Colin then added that even such a harmless joke could make Trump angry enough to bomb whichever country he thought she was from.
Donald Trump linked India and Pakistan to the Nobel Prize claim
After the Peace Prize winner announcement, Donald Trump posted on his Truth Social account that the woman who received the award was unknown to him and to most people. He said he did not know what she had accomplished.
In the post, Trump stated that he had already settled eight wars and added that he was also working quickly to resolve two more conflicts, Iran and Russia-Ukraine. However, he emphasized that the eight wars he had already settled were more than enough. He pointed out that settling even one of those conflicts, particularly the one between Pakistan and India, should have been sufficient to deserve the Nobel Prize.
