Netflix's crime drama, I Will Find You, stars Worthington as Sam David Burroughs, a former law professor who is wrongfully accused and imprisoned for the murder of his son, Matthew Burroughs. His life takes a turn when he receives an unlikely update about his son, who might still be alive.
The show is adapted from Harlan Coben's 2023 novel bearing the same title. Coben also serves as the executive producer of the crime drama along with Robert Hull, Steven Lilien, John Weber, Brad Anderson, and Bryan Wynbrandt. The series premiered on June 18, 2026, and consists of eight episodes.
The miniseries keeps you hooked till the end and delivers a mindblowing twist as the truth about the murder comes to light. Viewers were eager to know whether the series would be renewed for a second season. Harlan Coben clears the air surrounding the renewal in an interview with TV Insider. He noted that I Will Find You will not be back for Season 2.
"No. It is billed as a limited series by Netflix, much like the other Harlan Coben adaptations on the platform."
Harlan Coben gives an update about I Will Find You Season 2

The crime drama series follows the plot, characters, and even ending of Harlan Coben's book. Thus, renewing the series without source material is unlikely. Coben also pointed out that it was marketed as a limited series by Netflix from the beginning.
When asked whether Coben will be working on a second book of I Will Find You in the future, Coben said,
"Probably not. Whenever I do [a show] — I think this is my 13th series with Netflix — it’s always with the intention of never writing these characters again. It’s all out on the table.
He further explained how he does not like keeping viewers waiting years for the next installment. However, the author did not entirely rule out the possibility of a second season, although he prefers to work on a new story. He noted,
"I never say never. If we somehow came up with a storyline that would be as good as this one for these characters, I would tell it, but I don’t think we’re going to, and I’m not going to push it. I’d rather do a new story.”
I Will Find You ends on a thrilling note
In I Will Find You, David and journalist Rachel Mills trace Matthew's disappearance to a Boston Fertility Clinic called Berg Reproductive, led by Gertude Payne and her son Hayden. They discover that David's ex-wife, Cheryl, was a patient who faked her identity during the treatment. The investigation then takes several twists and turns before the truth finally comes to light.
The boy found murdered in David's home is not Matthew but Martin, a Swiss child who is taken from a murder scene in Geneva after the death of his guardians. He later lives in the Payne orphanage and mysteriously disappears before Matthew's alleged death. He is almost the same age as Matthew and bears a striking resemblance to him, although medical texts reveal that Martin suffers from MLD.
The mystery deepens, and it seems like David is innocent, and he is clearly framed for the murder. His neighbour lies about his whereabouts after Nicky Fisher, a mobster, threatens them. The mobster wants to seek revenge for his son's death in prison.
The investigation reveals that Hayden Payne killed Martin and planted evidence to frame David. Hayden then raises Matthew as Theo for five years, believing that Matthew is his biological son.
In the end, Hayden tries to take Matthew away from David and Agent Greer but fails to do so. Hayden shoots David, and Agent Greer asks Hayden to drop the gun. Hayden breaks down and tells them how Matthew was the best thing that happened to him. Rachel tries to calm him down, but he turns the gun on her. Agent Greer shoots Hayden, killing him. Eight months later, David's conviction is overturned, and Cheryl has a daughter with her present husband while Rachel writes a book.
