Episode 12 starts with Ra-Ik telling his fans to eat well and not get sick, which was also an indirect message for Se Na, who is his biggest fan. She and Chung-jae grab a drink, and he lets her know about opening an office soon. This also means he will be staying at his own house and will be leaving Se Na's home.

Se Na, who has proven Ra-Ik's innocence, applies for a retrial in her father's case and gets all the documents from her boss before leaving the office. She also reveals being a fan of Gold Boys to Ye Sol, Se Na's junior, who helped her on Ra-Ik's case.

Though Ye Sol says that she already knew about it by seeing Se Na's actions and the purple-colored accessories, something Gold Boys fans were obsessed with.

Se Na applies for a retrial, saying that the main witness in her father’s case lied because the prosecutor pressured them. She also stated that the evidence had discrepancies, and the trial would help in proving her father's innocence.

Byung-gyun also went to the court to silently support Se Na and met the investigator there. Byung-gyun tells him that he is okay with his father's name getting dragged again, as his father brought it on himself.

He also apologizes to the investigator for only thinking of winning, and the investigator lets him know that they did win the case by catching the real killer.

Hye-joo was given life imprisonment for killing Woo-seong. She didn't say anything in her final appeal and was sent to a psych ward instead of prison.

In the last episode, Se Na found her unstable in her medical records, and Hye-joo told Ra-Ik as well about being in the psych ward. This might have changed the authorities' decision. However, Byung-gyun was not very happy with it.

Just when Se Na leaves the court and meets the reporters, Ra-Ik surprises her with a bouquet of flowers and congratulates her. Viewers also see reporter Baek once again trying to ruin Ra-Ik's life by taking their photo as they go together. However, the fans soon came and asked him to delete the photos.

The scene was totally opposite from the first few episodes, where fans themselves trespassed Ra-Ik's home, showing how they changed to respect their favorite celebrity and give them a peaceful life. Jae-hee even reveals them making a privacy protection squad where fans pretend not to know them so they can be free like a normal human.

Ra-Ik goes with Se Na to meet her dad and pay his respects in the columbarium and later drops her off at home, where they share a kiss. Though he eventually stays for the night and even gives her the invitation ticket to their concert. When Ra-Ik asks Se Na to go for a picnic, she instead takes him to Chung-jae's place, where he comes to know about his business.

The Idol I episode 12 showed both of them thanking each other for the first time. Chung-jae thanked Ra-Ik for coming back, and Ra-Ik thanked him for taking care of Se Na.

For the first time, Chung-jae also expresses his feelings in front of Ra-Ik that he wanted to be by Se Na's side.

Jae-hee, Young-bin, and Ra-Ik pay their respects to Woo-seong in his memorial and say that he will always be by their side. They are also joined by Geum. Turns out, Geum gave the trademark easily when they were leaving the company without asking for anything in return.

Ra-Ik also thanked Geum for giving him the opportunity when he was a nobody, and Geum revealed that his mother was the first one to recognize his talent. Turns out, Geum was not as bad as the twists and turns made him look.

Chung-jae, on the other hand, meets Ra-Ik's mother and hands her the concert ticket.

Se Na, who wants to feel the excitement of booking tickets, is able to secure two tickets, one for herself and another for her online friend, who turns out to be Ye Sol. Se Na thanked her for helping with Woo-seong's case once again and letting her know about the secrets Woo-seong used to hide in his songs, because of which they were able to prove Ra-Ik's innocence.

The Idol I finale ends with the Gold Boys once again performing in front of their fans, with Se Na being their biggest fan and admiring Ra-Ik.
