If It's Tuesday, It's Murder Episode 1 kicks off with Fabio Torres in a public bathroom, rushing through putting on fresh clothes over a blood-splattered suit. This instantly makes him look guilty, though at this point, we do not know why the suit is covered in blood, or if Torres is guilty at all.

Almost immediately, we encounter the rest of the tour group. Cristina, the guide, is taking a bus load of Spanish tourists to Lisbon. She obtained this position following her divorce from her unfaithful husband. Amongst the group, we encountered various personalities: the fighting parents of Daniel, the party girls, and a young girl, Monica. Fabio became the last passenger aboard the bus, drawing the attention of some of the women.

Another man, Fernando Paredes, joins them on the road, and he immediately makes an impression in If It's Tuesday, It's Murder Episode 1. He addresses Fabio as if they know each other, but Fabio doesn't react the same way. Later, Fernando prevents Pura from being hit by a car and tries to flirt with Monica, with no success. He is later alone in his room, cycling through a gloomy song from a music box.

In Lisbon, Cristina cannot book them into the luxury hotel she has promised, but instead leads the group to the Marquês Hotel, which proves to be a let-down for everyone. This establishment has quite a history. It has been a hostel, a prison, a den of opium, and even a brothel. Interestingly, the hotel survived the devastating Lisbon earthquake of 1755. The guests complain, and Cristina offers refunds to calm them down.

In the hotel, there is a small confusion when Alicia takes Fabio's bag by mistake. When she checks inside, she sees some gold jewelry, watches, and other expensive items. In If It's Tuesday, It's Murder Episode 1, Fabio looks more guilty. He snatches his bag back and gives hers back to her.

The group goes sightseeing around Lisbon to various places, starting with St. George's Castle, followed by the Museum of Crime. Daniel's very unusual behavior, which he displays obsessively during the visit, makes him particularly interested in this subject. Some of the group, Fabio, Alicia, Pura, and Fernando, leave the official tour and wander around the museum by themselves. The group shares their intrigue in real-life crime.

Later on in If It's Tuesday, It's Murder Episode 1, Fernando excused himself, saying he wasn't feeling good. The group goes to have dinner, and people start separating. Fernando stays in his room, having dinner by himself. Fabio goes to sleep first, followed by Alicia. At the same time, two women come back drunk from the pub, and Cristina appears to be drinking alone.

Sometime in the middle of the night, someone slides a note under Fabio’s door, and he begins to shiver.

The next morning, Fernando doesn't turn up. Fabio and Alicia go round to check on him and find him dead in the bath. The police are called, and they begin an investigation, initially considering it a possible natural death.

However, things don’t seem right in If It's Tuesday, It's Murder Episode 1. Alicia can see bruises on Fernando's arms, as if he had been electrocuted. And Daniel is starting to believe that it might even be murder. Although Fabio tries to prevent him from sharing details, Daniel gets in touch with Alicia, Fabio, and Pura, and the four decide to make a quiet investigation.

In If It's Tuesday, It's Murder Episode 1, the first big clue is that a hairdryer is missing from Fernando's room. Normally, each room has a hairdryer, so they think that this could be the murder weapon. When looking outside, they find a homeless junk collector with a hairdryer. He pulls a dagger on Daniel, but it turns out to be fake, so they buy the thing off him.

The man also informs them that he saw a one-armed person near the hotel.

Putting the pieces together, it doesn't take long to realize that they have all got secrets. Alicia has a file on a missing girl. Pura is always on her cell phone, texting with someone who is obviously up to no good. Cristina is clearly depressed and a little bit angry. And Fabio's spattered suit and the way he gloms onto Fernando just make everything more confusing.

If It's Tuesday, It's Murder Episode 1 ends as the four of them set up a small detective group. They intend to approach the case of Fernando's death on their own, believing it was murder and not an accident.
