Apple TV's latest Imperfect Women made its debut on March 18, 2026. The first two episodes of the eight-episode series, "Eleanor" and "Crush," have already been released. The third episode is expected to drop next Wednesday, on March 25, 2026.

With Annie Weisman as its showrunner, it explores a chilling and distressing crime getting placed in the middle of the tightly knit friend group of Eleanor, Mary, and Nancy. Things begin to fall apart upon the untimely death of Nancy. In the wake of the tragedy, we witness a multidimensional view where we can track the chain of events that actually built up to this catastrophe. So, this series is not just a quintessential murder mystery; it also investigates the long-term psychological repercussions of past actions.

As per a review at TV Line, Imperfect Women falls on the line of being a "Wine Mom mystery." Which means that the series does have conventional tropes, but the undertone and complexity brought by the cast's performance do not reduce it to an archetypal portrayal. The treatment of the thriller series is more character-oriented and intimate, focusing on the complicated emotions of treachery, regret, and loss.

Although emotionally layered, the series somehow follows the motifs of a thriller, which can feel clichéd and unsurprising for many. The tried-and-true formulas applied in the show have the ingredients to be a sure-shot chart topper, but it does not really challenge its viewers. The show's current Rotten Tomatoes score ranks up to 47%.

Watch Imperfect Women if you wish to witness richly layered storytelling that explores women's friendships, laced with the realities of human nature. And of course, the compelling performances of the cast that flesh out these nuanced characters. However, if you are a connoisseur of thrillers and crave a cerebral kick, this may not feel as satisfying due to its routine narratives and stylish soap-like flair. In that case, you can feel free to skip it.

As a whole, this Apple TV series is an entertaining watch, packed with emotional subtlety. Although it does not offer anything innovative to the said genre, the way it examines the gray areas where moral ambivalence collides with camaraderie and grief is what makes it a thought-provoking, captivating viewing experience.
