Industry Season 4 Episode 4 recap: Rishi & Jim's downfall and Tender's new app 

Industry Season 4 Episode 4 titled '1000 Yoots, 1 Marilyn' aired on HBO on February 1. The network's stylish financial thriller drama series featured another impactful & intense episode that tested its characters' strengths.

After spending the previous hour with Yasmin, Whitney and Henry, the latest entry focused on Jim, the unethical journalist of FinDigest. After an incident scares his editor, Jim maintains his distance from Harper and her company, despite his promise to help them dig dirt on Tender in the previous episode. This forces Harper and Eric to look for another way and they reel in Sweetpea to connect with Tender's former CEO.

Elsewhere, Industry Season 4 Episode 4 also marked the return of Rishi, who landed himself in trouble after developing an interest in FinDigest and Jim.

Jim is fired from FinDigest in Industry Season 4 Episode 4

While Jim had a promising start in Industry Season 4, the latest episode brought many personal and professional problems in his life. Episode 4 opened with Jim and his ex-wife, Elaine Jordan, who returns to a mess at the former's apartment. It looks like somebody has broken into Jim's apartment and he enters into a heated argument with his ex-wife, concerning their baby's safety, which threatens Jim's chances of getting custody of his baby. While Jim is spiraling and taking a load of dr*gs to cope with his life problems, his editor Edward thinks that Tender is likely behind this.

Elsewhere at Tender, Yasmin is determined to change her husband's company's image in the market and thinks of a plan to damage Jim's public image. Thanks to her s*xual encounter with Hayley in the previous episode of Industry Season 4, she practically gaslights her into thinking that Jim s*xually assaulted her. Yasmin plans to use Henry's uncle's newspaper to expose Jim's unethical behaviour and it works in her favour. Once FinDigest learns about Jim's unethical practices, as proven by a picture of him and Harper in the newspaper, they cut him loose and Jim loses his job.

Tender launches a new app in Industry Season 4 Episode 4

Industry Season 4 Episode 4 marked the return of Pierpoint as Henry offers a collaboration to Wilhelmina Fassbinder, Pierpoint’s CFO. Tender is launching a new banking app and they need Pierpoint to invest in this project. In return, Henry and Whitney's company will help them get back on their feet. Elsewhere, Yasmin is busy with the launch party for Tender's new app, and she pushes for Henry to become the company's new face.

At the launch party, Henry is visibly nervous but he manages to deliver an impressive speech. Things were going smoothly with the journalists until Jim showed up and accused Tender of botching up their numbers by mentioning the Sunderland connection, which stressed Henry out. Thankfully, Whitney takes over the situation. This incident forces Yasmin to destroy Jim's career and further advance herself in her husband's company. After Rob disagrees with Whitney's business model, he fires him and Yasmin is promoted to head of communications at Tender, with Hayley working under her.

Rishi lands himself in trouble in Industry Season 4 Episode 4

While Rishi was suspiciously absent from Industry Season 4, he finally returns in the latest episode. His situation mirrors Jim's, as like him, he is also relying on dr*gs and alcohol and after his wife's su*c*de in the Industry Season 3 finale, he is worried that the custody of his child will likely go to his wife's mother. Their similar plight has made him weirdly obsessed with Jim and he is following him. In fact, it was Rishi who broke into Jim's apartment and he has now followed him to a pub.

After the events of Industry Season 4 Episode 4, Jim is naturally doused in alcohol and dr*gs at the pub when Rishi introduces himself. The two men bond over their similar plights until they move this party of two to Rishi's apartment. When Rishi exits to take a bathroom break, he finds Jim unconscious on the floor, possibly passed out from overdosing. Just at that moment, the police show up at Rishi's house to investigate a noise complaint and he panics and jumps from his apartment's balcony, leaving an unconscious Jim on the floor.

The final moments of the episode saw Rishi safely landing on the ground but he broke both his ankles before the police arrested him.
