Reported childhood encounters and mysterious messages: Archive X: Unexplained Phenomena will bring stories from people who encountered strange beings during childhood. Not only that, but some even thought those messages were from a very different intelligence.

Dr. John E. Mack's research: Another key part of the miniseries is Dr. John E. Mack's research. He's a Harvard psychiatrist who investigated people who claimed that they were taken away by aliens.

Dr. Mack even considered the possibility of these events because the explanations looked genuine and not something related to psychological problems that people he investigated might have.
