Elsbeth Season 4 Episode 3 recap: The mysterious death of Summer Redgrave

The episode kicks off with a singing show audition. The participants are Summer Redgrave and Winter Redgrave, and their duo was called Seasons. The host Otis tells the sisters that the competition does not work in duos and only Summer will be proceeding to the next round.

Winter runs a luxury candle brand called Kreem, and her sister Summer visits her in the office. Winter isn't elated to see her sister. Summer tells her sister that she funded the company. However, Winter thinks Summer funded Kreem because she felt guilty about what happened in the singing show audition round. Summer asks Winter to sell her company to ShopBuy, but Winter does not agree.

Summer strikes Winter with a drag-along clause. The clause says that the original investor of a new company can exercise drag-along rights and force a sale. Winter addresses her employees about the company takeover. Winter proceeded to her sensory deprivation tank.

However, as soon as she tries to leave, she feels a bit dizzy. Later, she meets Summer and confronts her about ShopBuy's fake Kreem product. Winter makes Summer try a fake body suit to help with muscle stiffness. Winter takes hold of its control bar and chokes Summer to death. However, in the next scene, Winter is seen coming out of the sensory deprivation tank in her office.

Elsbeth and Detective Nina Taylor investigate the crime scene. Elsbeth thinks that Summer was not alone when she died and that the wire has been pulled. Elsewhere, Winter tells her employees that she has called off the ShopBuy deal.

Elsbeth's mother Lydia clashes with Elsbeth

At home, Teddy brings his grandmother's suitcase as Elsbeth tries to clean the space. Teddy asks Elsbeth to not fight with his grandmother as it would leave a bad impression on Roy's parents. Elsbeth hugs her mother, Lydia. However, Lydia starts complaining about the apartment's size. Teddy tells her that he has taken a day off and will accompany Lydia for the day. Moments later, Elsbeth and Lydia start arguing.

Lydia later visits Elsbeth's office and meets Captain Wagner because she apparently lost the apartment keys. Wagner gives Lydia a task to keep her busy. Wagner talks to Lydia about his mother, and it makes him emotional. Lydia cleaned up Elsbeth's office, but Elsbeth was not too impressed.

Lydia also brought lemon bars and extra cartridges for the label maker to the NYPD station.

While zipping the jacket on Summer, a chip of Winter's nail polish was left on the zipper, and it contained remnants of red moon ladybugs. Her assistant verified that Winter did use red moon ladybugs. While the police were taking Winter away, she said,

"I consciously unsistered Summer years ago."
