Your Friends and Neighbors Season 2 concluded its ten-episode run this Friday. But the season 2 finale did not tie up all loose ends, making people wonder if it is returning for a third season. The simple answer is yes, there will be a season 3. It has been known for a while that Your Friends and Neighbors Season 3 is indeed happening.

Apple TV already renewed Your Friends and Neighbors for a season 3 early this year:

Season 2 premiered on Apple TV on April 03, 2026, but the streaming giant already renewed the dark comedy series for a third season back in February. The streaming giant announced the greenlighting of Your Friends and Neighbors Season 3 through a press release reading:

"Ahead of the season two debut of “Your Friends & Neighbors,” Apple TV announced that the acclaimed, hit drama has been renewed for a third season, and shared a new teaser trailer offering a first look of the upcoming second season."

The third season will explore the fallout of Ashe's death in the Your Friends and Neighbors Season 2 finale. Moreover, there is a major addition to the cast of the upcoming third season, which was announced on Thursday morning.

Joshua Jackson will be a part of Your Friends and Neighbors Season 3:

Joshua Jackson's casting announcement was made this Thursday morning through an exclusive report published on Deadline. While the production team has not revealed the character details, that has not stopped people from speculating online. Some think that Jackson's character could be the answer to one of season 2's unresolved plotlines, Coop's unidentified kidnapper.

We may learn more about his character in the near future or whenever the trailer comes out. But Joshua Jackson's casting is not the only new casting for the upcoming season. True Detective Season 1 and The White Lotus Season 3's Michelle Monaghan has also joined the Apple TV series' season 3. Both of their roles have been kept under wraps.

What do we know about the third season?

Creator Jonathan Tropper sat down for an interview with TV Insider to discuss the season 2 finale. There, he also revealed that he was about to direct some scenes for the upcoming season featuring Monaghan. Moreover, he also offered some breadcrumbs of teases for the third season.

If you remember, DeMille had returned Ashe’s money to Coop. Tropper revealed and teased that this money will return to haunt in the third season in the interview:

"I’ll just say that that money, the source of that money, is more complicated than Coop was led to believe, and that’s going to cause him some significant problems in Season 3."

When the TV Insider reporter asked the creator if he could offer any further teases for the upcoming season, he refused, saying:

"No, I think I just gave the biggest tease I’ve given yet about it, but the notion is just that when we did Season 1, we didn’t know if we’d get a Season 2. When we were doing Season 2, we were pretty confident we were going to get a Season 3, so Season 3 is really a direct continuation of Season 2."

Thus, it feels that the specter of James Marsden's Owen Ashe will be hanging around even after his death in the season 2 finale.

Season 3 doesn't have a release date, but it should be released soon; cameras have started rolling on it. Until then, you can binge the first two seasons on Apple TV.
