It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 18 Episode 8, titled Mac and Dennis Tear Their ACLs was all about finding the Christmas card idea so that they could beat Schmitty. The episode begins with Dennis and Mac deciding to have a race over the same Rudolph sweater and arguing over who got the idea to wear it for the Christmas card first.
While watching the episode, I kept seeing them argue over who stole the idea from whom, which was actually fun to watch as a viewer. But it was not so fun for Dee and Frank, who even used Cricket to find out what the ladder Dennis and Mac got was for. The episode ends by revealing that they never had an ACL tear in the first place, and the two use the ladder every time to get access to almost every event without anyone questioning them. But it doesn't work at Taylor Swift's concert.
On the other hand, they once again get beaten by Schmitty's Christmas card concept. The episode ends with a tribute to William Minkin and Richard "Rocky" Nichols.

Episode 8 begins with Mac and Dennis deciding to have a race to settle the dispute, as they wore the same Rudolph sweater. The winner of the race decides whose idea was to wear the sweater for the Christmas card. While watching episode 8, I also saw Dee getting upset over not being called over for the Christmas card, but she had plans of her own, like always.
Later, Dennis and Mac are seen lying on the bed after faking their ACL injuries, with both complaining that the other is copying them. Mac even asks Dennis to leave the room just so he could use the bathroom, but Dennis has no plans to leave. Throughout the episode, Charlie is seen trying to mediate between the two as they argue.

Dee, on the other hand, teams up with Frank and is pretty sure that the ladder is involved in the card in some way. And to figure this out, they even go to the hardware store. However, they don't get the needed information after the hardware guy refuses to give access to the security room and doesn't even remember any details.
Hence, they ask Cricket for help, and he creates a scene at the store. Dee and Frank use the opportunity and break into the security room using a ladder to find out which ladder Dennis and Mac bought. But it turns out they had used the same trick too, getting Cricket to create a distraction so they could steal the items.
When they ask Cricket about the same, he just tells them "Taylor Swift," leaving them to figure out everything on their own.

In It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 18 Episode 8, Dee and Frank return with the ladder and question Dennis and Mac about their idea to crash Taylor's concert, get a signed picture, and turn it into their Christmas card with a catchy slogan. But Dennis and Mac start to escape, and that's when everyone realizes that they were faking the ACL tear. But once again, the scene turns into both of them blaming each other for copying the other's idea.
Charlie, in the end, asks everyone to get together on the plan and work as a team, and Dennis explains that the ladder is not for climbing but for carrying, as it allows them access to any event without anyone questioning them. When watching the episode, one would see that they even showed examples of Dennis and Mac entering multiple events without anyone noticing or asking them any questions. And hence they all decide to use the idea and go with the ladder to Taylor's concert.
But the plan doesn't work this time, as they are stopped before they can get inside the concert. Instead of giving up or finding another way, the episode ends with Dennis and Mac once again arguing over whose idea the ladder was. However, Charlie then reveals the Schmitty card that has Merry Kickmas written on it, showing that he got the idea first and they can't beat this one anyway.
