Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 27 Episode 12: A quick recap

Episode 12 begins with Captain Benson receiving a call from the cops. They found an injured teenager and a man called John. When Benson speaks to her, she reveals that she is Riley Williams, and it appears she was forced into prostitution. The pimp blackmailed her.
She was placed in foster care, where her foster mother's boyfriend pushed her into prostitution. Benson also learned how Riley's biological father, Nate, was wrongfully accused of abuse, which led to him losing Riley's custody.
After Riley narrated how she was taken into foster care, Benson knew that something was fishy. Riley broke an arm while playing volleyball in the Bronx. The authorities initially found no foul play. However, when Dr. Bethany Allen interfered, the case was altered. She accused Nate, Riley's father, of abusing her and claimed Riley was lying to protect him.
Benson dug up more information on Dr. Bethany Allen's past. The Bronx family court paid no heed to their pleas. Also, not a single doctor was willing to go against Dr. Allen. CJ got a similar case where a single Black woman's son suffered a head injury. The mother called an ambulance. It was later found that the boy had a blood-clotting issue, but Dr. Allen hid the actual results to send the mother to jail.
It turns out Dr. Allen had an issue with single Black parents, and she did everything she could to keep them away from their children. However, her malpractices were soon uncovered, and she was found guilty of perjury.
What to expect?
There's no synopsis available for Episode 13 of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 27 at the moment. However, based on the teaser, it looks like the SVU team will be dealing with a cult leader. The cult leader/con man manipulates and abuses (s**ually and emotionally) young people. What's even scarier is the con man's confidence that his victims will never confess anything against him. Can the SVU team put him behind bars? We'll have to wait until February 26 for the answers.
