Lioness Season 3 Episode 1 begins with Joe working at her home and listening to the news. The news announces that the French government is facing rising violence and riots, Israel is engaged in war, Gaza is in deep crisis, and border conflict between Afghanistan and Pakistan continues. The news also tells us that Brazil is struggling with its own serious problems, while Russia and Ukraine remain locked in a destructive conflict.

As the episode progresses, viewers witness Joe standing at such a critical point where her job and personal life finally collide. The news forced her to take the desk job. By now, her private world has become stable, and her old physical injuries are healed, but her mental strength faces its toughest trial.

As the story moves on, Joe meets Yurimov, who knew everything about the Russian target. After receiving the news, her team prepares to infiltrate Donetsk, a battleground in Russia that appears entirely different from the Middle East.

The mission forces the soldiers into a scary new world of trench fighting, where hundreds of explosive drones attack the front line all at once. Joe and her team move in from the rear wearing full tactical gear and run toward a farmhouse hideout where they encounter Cody.

After meeting Cody, Joe's team begins the mission at six o'clock in the morning in a thick mist. The dense mist is blocking the visibility of the K9 unit, and because of that, the team struggles to move forward. But somehow, Cody decides to move first with Joe and Cruz, who are close behind him.

Three of them move together with the trained K9 units into the fog to strike the enemy line. When they reach the location, a brutal firing starts, and after a while, drones suddenly drop explosives from above while the dogs tear through defenses.

The team advances toward the farmhouse, and after that they use flashbangs and grenades to clear the rooms. They finish off the remaining fighters and cut a hidden tracker from Yurimov’s arm to stop their position from being exposed.

The extraction quickly collapses into chaos when an enemy drone strike destroys the building behind them. Joe's team escapes into a bunker just before a final bomb explodes outside the door. They survive the destruction in Ukraine, but the team loses one of the K9 units.
