The episode rolled off on a high note, and the islanders were ready to find their match. Instead of the traditional step-up process, this time the makers introduced a new game to decide the initial matches.

The islanders had to stand near the doors based on their preferences, as per some wild questions. It ended with the contestants kissing the person on the other side of the door of destiny. Here's who paired up with whom in the premiere episode.

Trinity Tatum, a 22-year-old model from Virginia, and Bryce Dettloff, a 29-year-old DJ and producer from LA, paired up after the door of destiny game. While Beatriz Hatz, a Paralympian from Colorado, and Sean Riefel, a police officer, matched as well.

Kenzie Annis, a nursing graduate from Georgia, and Zach Georgiou, Love Island alum Charlie Georgiou's brother, paired up. When Sincere Rhea's (a field athlete from Philadelphia) door opened up, he saw both Melanie Moreno and Aniya Harvey on the other side. Thus, Sincere had to make a decision, and he chose Melanie Moreno.

Since KC Chandler's (nursing assistant from California) door had no one waiting, and Aniya Harvey was left on the other side, by default, they paired up.

The islanders were then sent to the luxury villa in Fiji. The game had just begun, and it felt like the contestants were hooked into it already. From exchanging flirty lines to forming alliances, the premiere wasted no time in setting the stage for a season packed with romance, drama, and more. The honeymoon phase did not last long. The next evening, a green and red game changed the equations in the villa.

The doors of destiny reappeared, and the islanders had to test their compatibility. Each islander and their partner had to stand on opposite sides of the door. They were given a green and a red marker. The islander was supposed to choose green if he/she felt happy with their current match or red if they weren't.

While Sean stepped on green, Beatriz chose red. Zach chose green and Benzie red. Bryce and Trinity chose red. Surprisingly, KC and Aniya, along with Sincere and Melanie, choose green.

Who are the bombshells in Love Island Season 8 premiere?

Twists and surprises are a vital part of Love Island, and Season 8 introduced them in the form of two bombshells in the premiere episode.

Ariana revealed that the islanders who were standing on green dots were officially locked in, and they would not get a chance to explore with the bombshells. However, the ones who chose the red dot would get a chance to explore their compatibility with the bombshells.

The bombshells were Gabriel Vasconcelos, a Miami-based DJ and model, and Kayda, a 22-year-old from New Hampshire. They were instructed to kiss whoever they wanted to pair up with. While Gabriel chose Beatriz and Trinity, Kayda kissed Bryce and Zach. Gabriel was originally cast for the main lineup.

However, when Vasana was removed due to controversial remarks, he was shifted to a bombshell. To know what happens next, watch Episode 2 of Love Island on this Wednesday at 9 PM ET on Peacock.
