The news of the renewal comes right after Season 4 dropped, pulling in strong numbers and even making its place on Netflix’s Global Top 10 for two weeks straight.

So yes, a new season has been confirmed, albeit with some people missing, but the show’s Emmy streak is still going strong.

Season 5 is happening because Season 4 did exactly what Netflix wanted

Netflix released Season 4 of Love on the Spectrum on April 1, right at the very start of Autism Awareness Month. And the responses that were flooding in? Safe to say, all of it was overwhelming (in a good way!).

The numbers were also very visible, and because of it, the show even stayed in the Global Top 10 for two weeks straight.

But numbers are only one part of the equation. How? Because Love on the Spectrum has also picked up major Emmy wins in 2025, including Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program and casting.

The year before that, the show also won for casting and directing. Even earlier, it had already taken home multiple awards, including editing, all of which show consistency.

Now, Season 4 of Love on the Spectrum has returning couples and new people stepping into the spotlight. Madison and Tyler, Connor and Georgie, and James and Shelley continued their journeys. At the same time, new contestants like Logan, Dylan, and Emma have also brought fresh stories.

The season covered everything from first dates to serious relationships, including house hunting, a breakup, and a proposal.

There was real progress made, which is why the show keeps running; hence, the Season 5 renewal.

Connor Tomlinson exits Love on the Spectrum for Season 5

One big change heading into Season 5 is the exit of Connor Tomlinson. He has been part of Love on the Spectrum for three seasons, so this is not a small change.

Speaking to Variety, he confirmed,

“It is with humility and a heavy heart that I share I will not be partaking in Season 5.”

He also explained his decision clearly, saying,

“I feel like three seasons is enough to tell my story and find love on my own time.”

He also gave out a statement saying,

“I’ve chosen to pass the torch to the next person who can make it as big as me.” .

Connor is not stepping away from entertainment completely either. He talked about how he’s still going to be around, especially doing voice work projects, and he has also mentioned his interest in working in animation and other TV projects.

He also thanked the team behind the show, including the creator Cian O’Clery and the casting producer Sean Bowman, talking about how they changed his life over the past three years.

Love on the Spectrum continues with the same creative team. Cian O’Clery and Karina Holden remain executive producers, with Northern Pictures handling production. The format stays the same too, focusing on people on the autism spectrum navigating dating and relationships.

Love on the Spectrum has been confirmed for Season 5 because Season 4 delivered exactly what Netflix was on the lookout for, both in terms of producing numbers and, more importantly, also producing impact.

The reality dating show still holds its place as one of the most consistent reality shows out there, backed by multiple Emmy wins and a loyal fanbase.

And even though Connor’s exit will be felt, the format allows new stories to flow in naturally
