Arthur Chen as Fang Mu Yang

The male lead of the drama, Fang Mu Yang, is a brilliant painter who likes drawing live sketches of people. As for his qualities, he is a kind and helpful person. In episode 1, he doesn't hesitate to offer the food he gets to another child on the train and also saves people after the storm hits the village by putting his life at risk.
His destiny takes a shocking turn in Love Story in the 1970s when he gets badly injured while saving others and falls into a coma. When he wakes up, he realizes he has lost his memory and does not recognize anyone. He eventually develops a soft corner for Fei Ni, who looks after him during this difficult time.
Sun Qian as Fei Ni

The female lead of the drama, Fei Ni, is hardworking and doesn't take no for an answer. She doesn't let go of any opportunity that can help her get admission to the college. However, her application gets turned down every time.
She decides to take care of Mu Yang after he gets injured while saving other people, looking at it as an opportunity to gain merit and enter the college. Even though it was difficult to care for him, especially when his condition worsened, she did not lose hope. In the end, her efforts are recognized, and she earns respect from the hospital and local authorities.

Xia Hao Ran as Ye Feng
Ye Feng plays on the basketball team and leads them to victory with his strong performance in the match. He also seems to be interested in Fei Ni after she gives him a handkerchief to dry his sweat after the long game. He is the son of Xu Hong Qi, who works in the factory.
Guo Wei Jie as Lin Mei
Lin Mei is Fei Ni's close friend who truly cares for her. She is thoughtful and kind, always looking out for Fei Ni, and even shares her supplies from her own home to help her. On the other side, she also worries about Fei Ni's future and whether she will get to attend the university.
Li Shu Man as Ling Yi
Ling Yi is Mu Yang's girlfriend who studies at the university. After he gets injured, she pays him a visit to look after him. Though she soon leaves and leaves Fei Ni to take care of him, adding that she has to go write an article for the university. As promised, she comes back to see Mu Yang after he wakes up, only to learn that he no longer remembers her.
Cristy Guo as Fang Mu Jing
Fang Mu Jing is the sister of Mu Yang and cares for her brother. She even plans to take Mu Yang back to her hometown for rehabilitation so that he can recover properly and others do not have to worry about him. In episode 2, she reveals giving Mu Yang's university quota to his girlfriend, regretting that if she hadn't done that, he wouldn't have gotten into the accident.
Liu Min Tao as Xu Hong Qi
Xu Hong Qi works in the factory in Love Story in the 1970s and holds the power at the university. While Fei Ni does her best to impress her and get a spot in the university, she couldn't give her a seat, leaving Fei Ni disappointed every time. After Mu Yang wakes up in the hospital, she pays him a visit and even praises Fei Ni for her hard work. However, she doesn't mention anything about the university.
