They believe that Carolyn is playing hard to get to tempt John and reel him in quicker.Love Story Episode 4 takes a serious turn when John extends another invitation to Carolyn, this time to meet with his sister, Caroline. After much hesitation, she agrees but to her horror, the Kennedy family is gathered to celebrate Caroline's birthday, a detail John conveniently skipped. Naturally, Carolyn is unprepared for the party, without gifts and a prior intimation of facing the Kennedy family. The letter claims that Carolyn was always obsessed with John Kennedy and pestered her boss, Calvin, to introduce her to him, in hopes of being a Kennedy wife someday. The letter also claimed that Carolyn only initiated a relationship with John because of his power and wealth. The note also mentions her drug addiction and past relationships, things John would not have ignored if Carolyn had been honest with him.The letter works its magic and John confronts Carolyn, leading to the couple's break-up. When Caroline hears of the matter, she advises her brother to trust the woman he loves and not some anonymous, ill-intentioned letter planted to break the couple apart. John eventually realizes his mistake and rushes to Carolyn's apartment to apologize. The couple finally confesses their feelings to each other and spends yet another passionate night at Carolyn's apartment.However, trouble again finds the couple in the final moments of Love Story Episode 4. When Carolyn reaches her office, she realizes that the tabloids have published articles about her and JFK Jr.'s relationship, which have also reached her workplace.
