Netflix's French crime series, Lupin, will be back with Part 4 this fall. The official trailer features Omar Sy, who reprises his role as Assane Diop. The new season picks up four years after the events of Part 3. After being jailed following a difficult choice, Assane now finds himself amidst a dangerous game as someone begins committing crimes in his name. The trailer teases that this copycat thief might be his most dangerous rival yet.

Created by George Kay, François Uzan, Marie Roussin, Florent Meyer, and Tigran Rosine, Lupin Part 4 will release on October 23, 2026. Produced by Gaumont in association with Carrousel Studios, the show is inspired by Maurice Leblanc's gentleman thief Arsène Lupin. Part 4 is directed by Edouard Salier, Hugo Gélin, and Everardo Gout. Mathilde Arnaud, Jean-Yves Arnaud, Rosine, and Meyer serve as the writers.

Here's more about it.

The Part 4 trailer begins with Assane being dragged to a glass box in the middle of the prison. Four years have passed, and Assane is still serving his sentence. It seems like he has moved on from his past life and is keen to keep the promise he made to his son to reunite with his family in Senegal. As the officers strap him to a chair, he mysteriously disappears and minutes later reappears, saying,

"It wasn't me."

A strange announcement regarding museum heists signed by Lupin changes the entire scenario. Several museums become targets, and despite proper security, the heists go as planned.

Assane assures he has nothing to do with the crime, but the evidence points to him. Security footage shows Assane in one of the museum's rooms during a heist that left Captain Belkacem injured. Assane feels someone is trying to imitate him as he jokes,

"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."

In the trailer, Assane receives a phone call where the caller threatens him, saying

"I just want to play with you. Lupin against Lupin."

Assane needs to find out who is trying to imitate him before he lands in danger again. He seems determined to keep his promise to his son and return to Senegal. However, the copycat murderer is too good at imitating the gentleman thief's antics. Is the copycat thief going to be Assane's most dangerous rival yet? We'll have to wait until October to find out.

Throughout the trailer, we see Assane in different disguises, keeping the viewers shrouded in mystery. The trailer shows glimpses of Assane challenging the rival. The two-minute-long trailer wraps up with a statement:

"I'll take everything. Your impunity. And above all your arrogance."

In Part 3, Assane stole the Black Pearl. He faked his own death and managed to save his estranged mother's life. However, he realized that the only way he could live a stable life with his family was by turning himself in to the police. So in the end, he made a difficult decision. Part 3 wrapped up with Assane in prison, who was ready to quit his troubled past. Part 4 teases that Assane's troubles have increased with the new copycat thief.

Apart from Sy, Ludivine Sagnier, Antoine Gouy, Shirine Boutella, Théo Christine, Soufiane Guerrab, Laïka Blanc-Francard will be in Part 4.
