The police panic and restrain the actual Lupin, aka Assane, in a glass chamber and increase security at Musée du Petit in Avignon and the Natural History Museum in Paris. Despite Assane's insistence on his innocence, no one believes him. When the robberies take place, Assane disappears from the glass chamber as other prisoners also escape their cells. Both valuable items are stolen, but the thief escapes. Sofia chases the copycat but falls from the building, leaving Guédira feeling devastated. Assane later reappears in the chamber and denies being the person behind the robberies. He claims that someone used an LED screen to fool the police and staged the robberies to frame him.Guédira refuses to believe Assane until another cop reveals that the glass chamber’s documents are forged. However, CCTV footage appears to show Assane committing the robbery in Paris. Moreover, the police find the stolen painting in his cell, making Guédira believe Assane lied to him.Guédira waits for Sofia to recover in the hospital, and the police later discover that Assane has escaped prison. Meanwhile, Assane visits Pellegrini’s house and overhears Juliette refusing to help her imprisoned father. Later, the copycat Lupin contacts Assane through a drone, warns him about the police, and challenges him to a battle between two Lupins.Lupin Season 4 ending explainedAccording to FandomWire, at the end of Lupin Season 4, Raoul turns against Assane because he feels that his father has never given him enough attention. Assane’s growing relationship with his newly discovered daughter, Adèle, makes Raoul feel even more neglected. His frustration eventually pushes him to team up with Pellegrini. The ending of Season 4 reveals Adèle to be the copycat Lupin. She is also revealed to be Assane’s daughter with Juliette Pellegrini. After Hubert Pellegrini had sent her to an orphanage in England, she tried to find her biological family. She pretends to be Lupin to get Assane’s attention and becomes involved in a plan to steal the French Crown Jewels. Her arrival also gave Pellegrini a chance to cause issues within Assane’s family. In the final moments of the season, Raoul plans his own kidnapping with Adèle to make Assane hand over the French Crown Jewels. He then secretly teams up with Pellegrini and escapes with him in a helicopter. This leaves Assane shocked and makes it clear to viewers how badly the relationship between the father-son duo has deteriorated. However, that's not the ending of the season. The police open fire on the helicopter in which Pellegrini was escaping with Raoul. Assane is shot while trying to protect Raoul. Claire, Benjamin, Adèle, and Juliette rush to help him, but we don't know if he survives.Lupin Season 4 thus ends without confirming whether Assane survives or whether Raoul will eventually regret betraying his father.
