Marshals Season 2 Episode 2 promo begins with Cal telling the Marshals about the former cop who is on a vengeful spree of killing people he believes ruined his career. Cal says,

"Hey y'all. Time to shake some trees on a high-risk floor. It ain't going to be a cakewalk."

The camera pans to Kayce, finding an unconscious lady in a cop car. It also shows a snippet of the former cop with a sniper. The Marshals look dedicated to their tasks. Cal also warns that the cop is on a killing spree, saying

"He's one step ahead of us."

In the promo, Chief Deputy Harry Gifford seemingly refers to the former cop on a killing spree, saying,

"We need to catch up to him fast."

In another sequence, we see a glimpse of Tate and Kayce. Kayce advises Tate that it is sometimes okay not to be fine. Tate has been through a lot at a young age. From killing a hitman to save Thomas Rainwater to getting abducted by Tom Weaver and his men and barely escaping, the dark events did take a toll on his life. However, Tate tells his father,

"You and grandpa raised me to be calm."

Showrunner Spencer Hudnut, in a conversation with The Wrap, said that it would be quite difficult to understand Tate this season. He added that the choices Tate will be making this season might surprise a lot of viewers.

According to the synopsis, Thomas Rainwater might also find himself stuck with mounting political pressure.

Rainwater could also face backlash over his leadership on the reservation. According to showrunner Hudnut, Season 2 will mostly be about the struggles that Rainwater and Broken Rock will face, and the challenges that he wants to solve by himself. In this season, Rainwater will try to work for the community and bring them together, but that will come with several hurdles, including some that could put his job at risk.

Also, Belle might face problems in her family life. In an interview with The Wrap, showrunner Spencer Hudnut said,

"Belle, who almost got seriously wounded in the first episode, we’re going to want to deal with the consequences of that on her home front, because her son’s going to start to pick up on the dangers of what his mother does for work."

Hudnut noted that Episode 2 will pick up right from the events of the premiere episode, since they need to showcase the consequences of the events of the season opener.
