Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 Episode 7 recap: Bunny wakes up to a betrayal

In Season 4 Episode 7 of Mayor of Kingstown, Mike McLusky starts telling everyone he’s going to bury Frank Moses in prison forever. But since it's Kingstown, after all, Mike’s declaration creates an earthquake.

This week, we see Callahan pull off the most casual prison escape. The cartel and Frank Moses go to war thanks to a nudge from Mike. Bunny is ready to burn the world down. And then there’s Robert, but is he actually dead?

Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 Episode 7 recap: Mike’s power play somehow worked

Remember the helpless Mike from the first half of the season? He’s now probably buried somewhere under the smug Mike McLusky we even fear. He’s no longer dancing to Warden Nina Hobbs’ cartel-driven agenda, to say the least.

Mike tries to guilt-trip Frank Moses with a story about the cartel shooting as he says Bunny pushing Moses into hitting the cartel’s next drug shipment, but we know it was Moses’s handiwork. The Colombians lose big, and Nina Hobbs has a bullseye on her back. And she blames David Torres.

One whisper from Mike turns the cartel against Torres and eliminates the threat to CO Kevin Jackson. It isn't ethical, but it works, though. Mikethus starts rebuilding his kingdom as he deals with one enemy at a time.

Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 Episode 7 recap: Callahan's escape & Robert’s ending

Yes, that actually happened. Merle Callahan escaped prison like he was just clocking out for lunch. He sang “Country Roads” as he dropped cryptic threats to Kyle. Looks like he’ll say hello to Mike soon, but then he strolls out.

But, Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 Episode 7 has its darkest storyline happen to Robert Sawyer. In this episode, he fully snapped and started discussing killing Mike. That's how he becomes a liability, which is why Ian takes Robert out drinking, drives him home, places him in the driver’s seat, turns on the ignition, and goes away as the garage fills with carbon monoxide.

Robert is likely dead, but until the show gives us a body, no one can tell for sure. He might not be coming back to take the biggest revenge possible.

Bunny finally wakes from his near-fatal attack with revenge in his eyes. That's when he gets to only to learn it was his “business partner” Moses who tried to put him in the ground. War seems inevitable, but Mike stops him.

Their new strategy is legal entrapment. They wish to put Moses behind bars with evidence that sticks. Once he’s in prison, Bunny will end it all.

So, Season 4 Episode 7 gives us Callahan on the loose, Bunny out for Moses, Nina on the chopping block, and a possibly dead Robert.
