MobLand Season 2 premiere puts the Harrigans at war with each other - recap ahead

MobLand Season 2 Episode 1 is titled I Wanna Be Your Dog and was released on Paramount+ on September 18.

Ronan Bennett's crime drama series returned with another season, which saw the Harrigans at war with each other in the premiere. Conrad and Maeve were out of jail and were already in the middle of a new dr*g partnership with a Turkish kingpin, which went horribly wrong after Conrad realized his new partner had also teamed up with his son, Kevin.

With Conrad and Kevin in the middle of a civil war, Harry was left to deal with the fallout in the MobLand Season 2 premiere.

MobLand Season 2 Episode 1 recap: Welcome back, Conrad

Fans thinking the Harrigan fixer would be spared in the MobLand Season 2 premiere after his accidental stabbing in the Season 1 finale were wrong. Episode 1 wasted no time in roping Harry into yet another problem after Conrad shot the brother of a Turkish gangster. The Harrigan patriarch was out of jail and his first order of business was a dr*g partnership with a Turkish gangster named Gakbu. But Conrad was suspicious when Gakbu failed to show up for their meeting at the dog track and instead sent his brother Luca to close the deal.

It took Conrad no time to figure out that Gakbu's absence meant only one thing. The Turkish kingpin had turned his back on Conrad and instead joined hands with his son Kevin. Discovering that his son had usurped his business arrangements pushed Conrad over the edge, turning their tense rivalry into a bloody civil war.

The MobLand Season 2 premiere saw a turning point when Conrad, along with Maeve, Paul and his newly employed nephew Fergus, shot down Luca and half of Gakbu's family on the dog track.

Harry is suspicious of Kat McAllister in MobLand Season 2

While Harry was in the middle of his own marriage problems in the MobLand Season 2 premiere, he was pulled away at work. Realizing this crisis could easily blow up for the Harrigans, Harry instructed his pet cop to remove Conrad's traces from the dog track shooting. He then went to Conrad and warned him that Gakbu would not dare cross Conrad unless he had solid financial backing. Harry naturally suspected Kat McAllister, who was likely planning to divide and rule to take over the Harrigan empire. However, Conrad was not ready to heed Harry's advice as he harboured his own suspicions about the Harrigan fixer, which were fueled by Maeve.

Speaking of Maeve, she was running her own scam with Eddie in the MobLand Season 2 premiere. Eddie used Gina as a catfish to intimidate gullible YouTubers out of protection money.

Kat is a threat to the Harrigans in MobLand Season 2

Harry's fears proved true as the MobLand Season 2 premiere expanded on Kat's reach. She is not just a powerful U.S. ambassador with strong connections but is also making new allies to take over the Harrigan empire. Seraphina became her latest target as she was desperate to claim the family throne from her father. Seraphina considered Kat a valuable weapon in her war against her father and promised her half of the family's revenue for the first four years.

Elsewhere, Harry took his doubts about Kat McAllister to Kevin in the MobLand Season 2 premiere. While Kevin did not dismiss Harry's theory about Kat like his father, he did not believe him either. Harry's problem increased tenfold when he discovered that a witness from the dog track had given a statement against Conrad. Proving his title as the Harrigan fixer, Harry convinced the witness to take his statement back, claiming he was coerced by Gakbu into giving a false statement against the Harrigan patriarch.

The final moments of MobLand Season 2 Episode 1 saw Harry arrive to take out Gakbu and his men, as per Conrad's orders. But before the kill, Harry asked Gakbu to confirm Kat's role in his deal with Kevin. Gakbu confirmed that Kat arranged his deal with Kevin, following which Harry took him and his men out, concluding the episode on a deadly note.
