The star of the reality TV show, Jen Affleck, filed for a divorce from her husband, Zac, on November 3, 2026. US Magazine exclusively revealed that the star had once stated her marriage with Zac was 'stronger than ever' a little over a year before she ultimately filed for divorce. The Hulu reality star explained in 2025,
"I thought it was important to share a bit of the aftermath because that was kind of the reality of what was going on, and there was a lot that we were trying to navigate, but I also wanted to show that it’s just the reality of marriage sometimes."
However, two days ago, Jen filed a petition for divorce in Utah court, submitted a proposed parenting plan, and kept the filing details private. The court records didn't reveal the reason for the separation or detail the custody arrangement Jen sought for their children.
TMZ mentioned that the couple met on the Mormon dating app Mutual in 2018, got engaged in 2019, and married in June 2019. They went on to welcome three children, Nora, Penelope, and Lucas, while Jen was also expecting their fourth child at the time.
Jen Affleck's backstory before filing for divorce
Jen and Zac's relationship was featured on the Hulu series, where they openly discussed the challenges they faced in their marriage during season 1. Later, Jen revealed that they began filming while their relationship was going through a difficult period, but they worked through those problems in therapy. As a result, therapy helped them strengthen their connection. As per US Magazine, Jen Affleck shared from her Instagram profile,
"There were many days during my first trimester where my mind went to some really dark places."
She added,
"It scared me. And if you’ve ever experienced depression, you know how isolating it can feel. Add moving to a new state, being pregnant, and trying to show up for your kids, and some days felt impossible."
Currently, the trailer for the show's spinoff, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County, revealed the appearance of Jen Affleck. The spinoff is scheduled to premiere on November 12, 2026, after she relocated from Utah to Southern California.
