SBS TV's latest K-drama, My Royal Nemesis, premiered on May 8, 2026. The fantasy K-drama follows the story of Shin Seo-ri, whose life is taken over by a Joseon-era villainess, who possesses her body after being poisoned and killed.

Apart from the fantasy-driven, quirky romance story, the K-drama has also gained viewers' attention due to its popular ensemble cast, which includes Lim Ji-yeon and Heo Nam-jun.

1) Lim Ji-yeon as Shin Seo-ri/Kang Dan-shim

Lim Ji-yeon portrays the characters of Dan-shim from the Joseon era and Seo-ri from the present in the K-drama. As revealed in the first two Episodes, Dan-shim was a first-rank concubine who was punished by her own king and poisoned to death. However, she finds herself alive and trapped in the body of a woman named Shin Seo-ri, in a strange new world.

But with Dan-shim's sharp-eyed and observant nature, she quickly learns the way of the world and the life of the woman whose body she now inhabits. Furthermore, it is revealed that people from her Joseon-era life are also present in this new world, bringing back painful memories.

Lim is known for her role in Netflix's popular K-drama The Glory, where she played the antagonist Park Yeon-jin. Her other popular K-dramas include High Society, Nice to Not Meet You, and Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area.


2) Heo Nam-jun as Cha Se-gye

Heo plays the character of Se-gye, a ruthless Chaebol who crosses paths with Seo-ri. While they indulge in verbal fights every time they come face-to-face, their meeting also ends up protecting the other person from incoming danger. In Episode 2, it is revealed that Se-gye was also present in the Joseon era and knew Dan-shim. However, why she does not remember him is not yet revealed.

Apart from the latest K-drama, the South Korean actor has also appeared in K-dramas such as When the Phone Rings, Snowdrop, Sweet Home, and Perfect Crown.


3) Jang Seung-jo as Choi Moon-do

Jang Seung-jo plays the antagonist Moon-do in the fantasy K-drama. He is Se-gye's cousin, who is planning his downfall. In the first two episodes, it is also revealed that he is the King from the Joseon era, who had Dan-shim killed. However, it is yet to be revealed whether Moon-do remembers his Joseon-era life.

Jang was last seen in Netflix's acclaimed K-drama, As You Stood By. His other roles also include Snowdrop, Encounter, and The Good Detective, among several others.
