NCIS: Origins Season 3 Episode 4 recap: Gibbs interrogates a general's rebellious teen son

According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, the episode kicks off with the past timeline. Gibbs was working to build a shed for his boat when he spotted a kid. He arrested the kid for trespassing. The kid claimed that he was running away from someone. However, when Gibbs started asking him questions, he was left confused. Gibbs brought the kid to his office and tried to get Franks' sign-off on an investigation, but Franks shut it down. Thus, they had to either hand over the kid to the police or let him go. Gibbs chose to let him go because he wanted to follow him to a source. Gibbs followed the kid to a rundown apartment.
The kid was seen asking for money from a friend on the phone and said that he had to leave the town. Gibbs came in and asked the kid who he was running away from. During their conversation, someone fired shots at the apartment.
The kid initially claimed that his name was Kevin Montgomery. However, that was an alias; his real name was Jack Hale. He was eighteen and recently graduated from Yorkfield Military Academy. It turns out he was the son of General Arthur Hale.
Franks demanded that the teen be brought in for an interrogation. They found out that Jack was selling fake IDs. He was working as a photo clerk in one-hour photo places. He was using the machinery to make the photo IDs. Jack claimed that one day another fake ID seller threatened Jack to leave the business. Jack was rude to him.

From that day onwards, Jack felt that he was being followed. The stalkers found out his address. Jack had no clue who was trying to kill him. Jack knew nothing about the guy except that he smelled like a sunscreen called Hasselhoff. Jack gave fun nicknames to the squad. He called Gibbs Popeye, Randy Gingersnap, Lala Salma, and Frank's Moustache. He didn't want his father to know he was at the NCIS office.
However, Wheeler wanted to let Jack's father know about it. The team took Jack back to the store to get the security video to find out more about the mystery man. They found out that someone had broken into the store. As they entered the store, they found out the FBI was waiting for Jack. The FBI connected Jack to a murder. He wasn't a suspect but likely the next possible victim.
There was a woman named Tilly Chavez who visited Jack's photo shop to print photos. She was an FBI tip line informant. She claimed that she had evidence of a crime but was killed before she could meet FBI Special Agent Jo Swanson. Swanson managed to track her down and found out that Tilly was murdered. There was a message on her answering machine from Jack, who said that the photos were ready.
The FBI and NCIS formed a joint task force. They questioned Jack about Tilly's photos. He said that the machine was malfunctioning, as some photos came out blank. Lala was able to get the image using her darkroom. She found out that Tilly had taken an image of several hands in a refrigerator. They initially thought it was a serial killer's work, but the reality was more violent. They found out that the victims were members of Nine Gates Brotherhood, a ruthless gang.
The gang was known for killing anyone who seemed to be a threat. They believed Jack saw Tilly's photos, so they wanted to kill him. However, in reality, Jack never saw the photos. Lala and Franks wanted to know who Jack's stalker was. They tracked down a man named Flaco. He told them Chan was the one who was looking for Jack. The team also informed Jack's father, who was sending a plane to pick up his son and take him to North Carolina.
When Jack found out about it, he snuck away. He lured Chan into a trap and informed Gibbs. NCIS later took down Chan. Jack also gave his money to Tilly's family. Lala had Jack use one of her old cameras. Jack gave Gibbs a photo of Gibbs looking at Lala.

In the present day, Gibbs held onto that photo and explained his troubles to Eleanor Bishop. Eleanor agreed to help him find out who was trying to kill him. The first step was to send the bullet for a detailed analysis. Eleanor was curious when she saw the photograph and asked who she was. According to TVLine, Gibbs told her that the woman in the photo was Lala and said that she died in a plane crash years ago.
