Prime Video's latest action crime drama, Neagley Season 1, starring Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, is out now. All eight episodes are available to stream on Prime Video. Created by Nick Santora, this series is a spin-off of Reacher.
In Reacher, we have seen glimpses of Frances Neagley as a supporting character. However, in this spin-off, she leads the show. We get a glimpse of her backstory, investigative methods, and several answers that were left unanswered in Reacher.

The finale delves into how Neagley avenges Tommy's death by exposing the Echo Canyon Farm cult and the undercover drug experiment run by Lawrence Cole, Rawlings, and others. Neagley gives Rawlings a dose of Tranqlara. As the drug starts showing its effect, Rawlings takes off his clothes and walks into the incoming traffic.
Here's how Neagley Season 1 ends
Neagley Season 1 begins with Tommy Crane's suspicious death

Episode 1 begins with a dazed man stripping his clothes in the train station. He walks on the subway track and gets hit by an incoming train. Later, we learn that the victim is one of Neagley's old friends, Tommy Crane.

Before Neagley gets the news of Tommy's death, she solves a kidnapping case with the help of Jack Reacher. The kidnappers try to trap Neagley, but they fail. As the kidnappers try to escape, Reacher stops them and punches them brutally. Reacher and Neagley finally rescue a little girl from the car trunk. Neagley takes Reacher to a Cubs game and insists she is fine on her own.
Neagley Season 1: Investigation leads to Echo Canyon Farm

Neagley is then informed about her old friend Tommy's sudden death. At the funeral, she reveals that she was once Tommy's best friend, and he was like a brother to her. However, eventually they lost touch. Tommy's parents believed Echo Canyon Farm, a cult-like organization, might be behind their son's death. Mysteriously, Tommy left a clue which said Echo Canyon Farm reminded him of a Lake Laverne Summer Camp. Neagley was aware that Tommy hated the Lake Laverne Summer Camp.
Neagley's investigation leads her to Detective Hudson Riley. They noticed cameras around the train station where Tommy took his life were broken. They found footage of a man called Keno who was escaping from the area. Riley feels Tommy's death might be a homicide. Later, he apologizes to Neagley for questioning why she refused to shake hands. He explained he has a friend with a similar problem. Neagley's boss's secretary, Renee, also joins the team. It turns out she also wants to be a PI.
Elsewhere, pharmaceutical executive Pierce Woodrow is seen pitching a new psychedelic miracle drug called Tranqlara. He believes the drug can diminish depression and anxiety.
Neagley then tracks down Keno, and she saves him from two goons. It turns out Keno is a foster kid, and he saw what happened in the railway station on that unfortunate day. He saw a truck speeding away with some greenery flying out of its back. When Neagley finds it, she guesses it is buckwheat, something that Echo Canyon grows.
She then goes to the farm, where Judith claims that whatever Tommy told about himself was fake. Judith added that Tommy had detached himself. Judith told Neagley that people change. However, Neagley isn't buying Judith's lies. She realizes someone had entered her car and copied her VIN. Before leaving, she warned Judith.
On her way back, a truck slammed into Neagley's car. She forced it off the road, and before she could catch the driver, it exploded. Later, we saw two men cleaning up the mess.
Eventually, Renee proves her worth and turns out to be quite resourceful. To solve the mystery at Echo Park, the team appoints Keno. He might be homeless, but he is street smart and resourceful. He can seamlessly go undercover. Keno finds out something that lands him in a dangerous situation.
Neagley Season 1 finale recap: The mystery behind Echo Canyon

During the investigation, they find out that Echo Canyon has a secret facility that is being used to test an illegal drug called Tranqlara on human subjects picked up from the cult led by Lawrence Cole. The drug is developed by Woodrow, who is funded by a Swedish billionaire called Rawlings. After Woodrow gets murdered, Rawlings decides to remove Echo Park from the experiment. He sends his team to murder Lawrence and everyone in Echo Park and bring back Woodrow's drug. When Neagley finds out Woodrow has been killed, she realizes Rawlings would plan his next step accordingly.
What happened to Lawrence Cole and Rawlings in Neagley Season 1?
In Neagley Season 1, Neagley, Hudson, and Renee manage to kill Rawlings' men. However, by the time they arrive, several innocent people have already been killed, including Mandy, Kemp's friend.
Neagley finds Lawrence, who was trying to escape. However, he breaks his leg. The surviving members of the cult are rescued. Lawrence, stuck in the bunker, dies during the explosion. Elsewhere, to avenge Tommy's death, Neagley gives Rawlings a dose of Tranqlara. As the drug starts showing its effect, Rawlings takes off his clothes and walks into the incoming traffic.
What happened to Neagley's father in Neagley Season 1?

Neagley's personal life is also a mess. While she is drugged with Tranqlara, she realizes that she was a child when she saw her father stabbing a guy to death. When she ran away, he caught her, saying nobody would ever be able to touch her. This was the beginning of her shift in personality, and she refused to be touched. She found out that her father killed a pedophile called Percy. She also found out that Percy s*xually abused Tommy, and that was the trauma that Tommy carried his entire life. When Tommy's parents found out about it, they asked for help from Neagley's father, who was a cop.
By the end of Neagley Season 1, Neagley's father passed away after suffering from two major cardiac arrests. However, he left a letter for his daughter and confessed that the truth she found out about him and Percy's death was true. He apologized for the impact Percy's death had on her.
A bittersweet end to Neagley Season 1: Renee and Keno's budding romance and Hudson's confession

Neagley has finally found friends whom she can trust: Renee, Hudson, and Keno. When Reacher shows up at her father's funeral, she shakes hands with him for the first time. This shows she is ready to break out of her trauma shell and that Reacher has made her feel safe. She also goes to a therapist. Neagley also decides to buy the PI firm. After her boss's death, she feels guilty and buys it at an inflated rate.

Following the Echo Park case, they exposed the corrupt practices of the cop that Hudson had killed. The chief is arrested, and Hudson is cleared. At the funeral, Hudson seems a little jealous of Reacher and Neagley's growing bond. At the PI firm, Hudson confesses his feelings for Neagley. She doesn't deny it, but feels she has to still work on her mental health. They finally decide to have breakfast together.
In Neagley Season 1, Keno and Renee also get pretty close. As they discuss their lives, the conversation ends with them kissing each other.
