The Prestige actress Rebecca Hall has been cast as the female lead in Netflix's upcoming untitled series based on Dan Brown's mystery thriller novel, The Secret of Secrets.
According to Deadline, the Golden Globe-nominated actress is set to play Katherine Solomon in the series. Known for her role in The Town, The Beauty and Iron Man 3, Hall is cast opposite her husband, Morgan Spector, in the series. Spector will play the male lead, Professor Robert Langdon.
Earlier this month, Deadline reported that The Gilded Age actor is roped in for the role and that Hall was in talks to play the female lead. With Hall finally joining the cast of The Secret of Secrets, this will mark the couple's fifth collaboration and their first TV series together. They have previously worked together in Machinal (a Broadway play), Christine (a 2016 film), Animal (an off-Broadway play), and Permission ( a 2017 film).
Showrunner Carlton Cuse, co-writer Brown, along with Genre Arts' Emma Forman, will serve as executive producers of this project. Back in 2025, Netflix landed the opportunity to adapt Dan Brown's The Secret of Secrets in one of the biggest book deals ever. Filming is scheduled to begin in the fall and will primarily take place in Prague.

Who will Rebecca Hall play in Netflix's upcoming series based on Dan Brown's The Secret of Secrets?

Rebecca Hall will play Katherine Solomon, the missing scientist and love interest of Harvard professor and symbologist Robert Langdon in the untitled Netflix project based on The Secret of Secrets (Dan Brown's sixth book of the Robert Langdon's series)
Primarily set in Prague, the novel's plot follows Robert Langdon, who races against time and ancient mystical forces to find his girlfriend Katherine Solomon and her manuscripts. Langdon travels to Prague to attend Katherine's groundbreaking lecture. Katherine is on the verge of publishing a book on the nature of human consciousness, which threatens to disrupt traditional beliefs.
However, she mysteriously goes missing with her manuscript. Meanwhile, Langdon finds himself targeted by a mysterious organisation. The trouble does not end here, as he also seems to be the target of a chilling assailant who apparently has roots in Prague's ancient mythology. From New York to London, Langdon desperately searches for his missing girlfriend Katherine, and eventually he unravels the shocking truth behind the secret project.
According to Netflix, Katherine's relationship with Langdon will reveal a different side of the renowned professor and symbologist. Speaking about Spector and Hall's characters in the upcoming series, Cuse told Netflix,
"For the first time ever, Robert Langdon has a serious love interest — and that changes many of the ways he sees the world. It’s an exciting evolution of the character.”
Praising Spector, Cuse added,
"Morgan is a truly wonderful actor whose work is always filled with intelligence, thoughtfulness, and humanity. He’s the perfect fit for Robert Langdon — a brilliant academic whose curiosity, intelligence, and intellect are the tools of his trade.”
The series is set to blend futuristic science with mystical lore, with a dash of suspense and thriller elements that have made Brown's Robert Langdon novel series a global hit.
