It cannot be denied that Violet’s growing romance in the fourth season of the series gained an immense positive response from the viewers.

Netflix will bring Violet’s first love, expanding the Bridgerton universe in a new direction

This upcoming Bridgerton prequel series will dive into the romance of Violet with Viscount Edmund Bridgerton. Throughout the four seasons of the series, there have been several instances where viewers were able to witness the deep love Violet has for Edmund Bridgerton. With this upcoming series primarily focusing on Violet’s love story with Edmund, it can be expected that there will be a deeper dive into their relationship and the bond that impacted Violet even years later.

The task of writing the storyline is helmed by Nicholas Nardini and Shonda Rhimes. Both Rhimes and Nardini are also the executive producers and showrunners of this upcoming Bridgerton prequel series. Both of them also collaborated on the Queen Charlotte series, which also became an immense success.

Though it is exciting news for the fans of the series, viewers will have to wait for some time before this series about Violet and Edmund’s story arrives. The filming of the fifth season is in progress. The fifth season will explore Francesca’s storyline on a deeper level. In the fourth season, Francesca went through a devastating situation. Francesca became a widow and had to navigate a distinct emotional struggle. In the next season, her relationship with Michaela will be brought to the forefront.

The series has already been renewed for the sixth season. The character of Francesca is brought to life by the very talented Hannah Dodd. Michaela Stirling’s character is played by Masali Baduza. The fifth season of the series is set to release next year and will have Francesca and Michaela as the primary characters. In a previous interview with Tudum, Masali Baduza pointed out how “grateful and excited” she is for the upcoming fifth season of the series.

Hannah Dodd also added that she is “looking forward” to Francesca “feeling like she deserves love”. The storyline of the fifth season is set to pick up after two years following the incidents of the fourth season. Even though this series is not the first time that a show has depicted “queer love”, it felt “groundbreaking” while making an entire season “about a sapphic relationship,” according to Jess Brownell, the showrunner of the series.

Baduza also appreciated Jess Brownell for guiding them “on this journey” of depicting Francesca and Michaela’s love story. The goal for the storyline has been to depict a “realistic view of queer love onscreen” with the aspect of a “happily ever after”.
