It had started to seem almost too good to be true when Apple TV subscribers realized they were getting access to some of the best shows of the year at $12.99/month. They are being proven right. Apple TV is now raising its subscription prices. The platform has gradually become one of the most successful streaming platforms in the market with original shows like Ted Lasso, Widow's Bay, Pluribus, and Silo, among others. Now, it is raising it's subscription prices for the fourth time in the last four years. What's the new subscription fee after the Apple TV price hike?Platforms like Peacock, Netflix, and ESPN have increased the subscription cost for their services in the recent months. Apple TV is now joining that group as well. The streamer is increasing the monthly subscription fee from $12.99/month to $14.99/month. Thus, the yearly subscription fee is also increasing from $99 to $119. However, existing subscribers will be informed approximately a month in advance before they are actually charged with the new subscription price. Hence, it won't be sudden or random. There is also going to be a rise in the price for Apple One's individual tier. This plan includes access to Apple TV, Apple Music, iCloud+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, and Apple Fitness+ and used to be priced at $19.95/month. From now, customers will have to pay $21.95/month for the individual tier. However, given the popularity of Apple TV's shows and films, this price change might not affect its audience base too much. The platform is known for producing quality content and has been releasing one successful show after another. Its viewers were evidently happy with what they were getting for $12.99/month, and a $2 hike might not be a problem for them. Moreover, this isn't the first time the streaming platform has raised its prices. The platform's subscription fee has been increased four times since its initial 2019 fee of $4.99/month. Most customers have still stuck to the platform and continued watching its content. Since 2019, the platform has also improved when it comes to the quality of its original shows and now streams original films like CODA, Killers of the Flower Moon, and F1. While this is yet another streaming platform raising its subscription prices, it might not affect the platform's customer retention too much. For more articles like this, follow Soapcentral.
