Francesca Bridgerton's "pinnacle" problem is finally being addressed by Bridgerton showrunner Jess Brownell. While most of the attention this season is on Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Baek, Francesca's storyline has also gotten quite the attention.

The show addresses some important questions about her sexuality, particularly about her intimacy with her husband John. Addressing that, Brownell told Variety,

I think it’s probably a combination of the fact that it is a common problem and also a problem that feels really specific to who Francesca is as a character. I wouldn’t say it’s about John versus Michaela necessarily, but I think Fran is someone who is not in touch with herself, literally or metaphorically, and that may be part of the reason she’s unable to orgasm.

The young lady is also building up something towards Michaela, John's cousin who has been gender swapped from the books, giving the show a chance to lean into a queer romance with one of the main Bridgertons. Talking further about her arc, Brownell told the outlet,

"The Francesca story specifically I’m really excited about because I think on the show, obviously, people are always having magical simultaneous org**ms, and that fantasy is really fun, but also it doesn’t represent accurately most women’s experience. And so I think there’s actually something really empowering, hopefully, about the relatability of Francesca’s story."

The fourth season of Bridgerton brings quite a fresh fairytale twist on a more modern scale, with a Cinderella inspired story for the young Bridgerton, and his charming encounter with a mysterious woman he is enthralled by at his mother's masquerade ball.

As it turns out, the lady is Sophie Baek, the maid of the Penwood household and upon her stepmother getting to know about her going to the ball, she is promptly fired upon and later saved by Benedict. The first part of the eight episodes explores that dynamic, teasing how things could eventually map out for Benedict as he remains torn between the two women, unaware that they're the same.

The second part will explore how this goes, while also focusing on the other characters. Eloise Bridgerton has completely gotten herself off the market, while Penelope and Colin continue their romance after marriage. Fan favorites Kate and Anthony are back, this time as young parents and Violet Bridgerton is desperately running after Benedict to mend his ways.

Bridgerton Season 4 is streaming on Netflix. The second part drops on February 26.
