Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord just got the ultimate vote of confidence even before it's premiere as we already know it's stable future. Lucasfilm has a=officially announced the show's second season, days before it debuts on Disney+, through a social media past starring Dave Filoni, the creator and now Lucasfilm's co-president and chief creative officer.The official announcement on the franchise's website read,Not only will Maul have his revenge, his journey will continue with a second season of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord. Ahead of the series premiere, creator and executive producer Dave Filoni has announced the continuation of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord with confirmation of Season 2 in the works from Lucasfilm Animation. Season 1 debuts on Disney+ with a two-episode premiere on Monday.The show revolves around Maul trying to rebuild his whole criminal operation on a planet the Empire hasn't touched, and he runs into a young Jedi Padawan who might be the apprentice he's looking for. In a way, it's filling in the massive gap fans have about what Maul was actually doing between The Clone Wars and everything in Solo: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars Rebels. We all know he survives getting cut in half but nobody ever explained what he was up to after that. Head writer and co-creator Matt Michnovetz spoke to Empire about the show and stated,“We’re dealing with some of Maul’s missing years. All you really need to know is that this is a fast-paced action thrill ride about a guy who's been wronged by a bunch of different people, and he wants payback,”The cast includes Gideon Adlon as Devon Izara, Wagner Moura as Brander Lawson, Richard Ayoade as Two-Boots, Dennis Haysbert as Master Eeko-Dio Daki, Chris Diamantopoulos as Looti Vario, Charlie Bushnell as Rylee Lawson, Vanessa Marshall as Rook Kast, David W. Collins as Spybot, A.J. LoCascio as Marrok, and Steve Blum as Icarus. The show has ten episodes total, two releasing every week starting April 6.
