The Pitt Season 2 is teasing a comeback, and it's one of our favorite characters from the show. The new first look drops Shawn Hatosy’s Dr. Jack Abbot back into the chaos of the Trauma Centre in episode 7 after a mostly off-screen season so far. Shawn Hatosy teased on set that Abbot turns up embedded with an SWAT unit as an on call physician, which explains the uniformed look fans noticed in the teaser stills. He will also be directing the show's ninth episode.Speaking to Decider, the Emmy-winning actor talked about his role this season as he stated,“Well, I’m here, so I think. Abbot comes in [Episode 7], he’s working SWAT that day. He’s on a SWAT team. They take a doctor with them often in case something goes wrong and they usually bring somebody who has training in both worlds. So Abbot fits perfectly. That’s what he does on his days off.”Abbot is an attending emergency physician at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, where he works the night shift. During the PittFest mass casualty event, Jack steps up without hesitation, mentoring younger doctors while holding the line under pressure. Guarded and dryly humorous, he prefers the solitude of nights, driven by duty, loyalty, and hard earned strength. He also shares a close bond with Noah Wyle's Robby.More details about The Pitt Season 2 Episode 7The Pitt Season 2 has been going steadily, exploring personal narratives, keeping it's roots in accuracy and depicting the conditions and stories of healthcare workers through the lens of realism.
