"I don't recommend it": Twilight star Ashley Greene jokingly spills the beans on her Wonder Man cameo

Twilight star Ashley Greene has opened up about her cameo in Disney+'s 2026 MCU series, Wonder Man. At FanX Salt Lake City, Greene joined her Twilight co-star Jackson Rathbone for a reunion panel. When Collider's host Maggie Lovitt asked about Greene's experience in Wonder Man, she jokingly said,

"It's the weirdest thing I've ever done. I don't recommend it."

Wonder Man, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in the leading role, premiered on January 27, 2026. Abdul-Mateen II played the role of Simon Williams, a struggling actor. The series delves into a satirical look at the film industry and contains multiple celebrity cameos, including Joe Pantoliano and Josh Gad.

Among them was Ashley Greene, who appeared in the first episode of the series. She played Simon's co-star. She was cast to play Professor Sarah and was meant to transform into a deadly monster. However, her transformation never happened because Simon was too overprepared, and the showrunner removed Simon from his role for wasting production's time.

Wonder Man might be considered one of the best Marvel series to date. There were multiple celebrity cameos that took the series to a different level. Among them was Twilight star Ashley Greene, who appeared on the premiere episode titled Matinee. In the episode, struggling actor Simon Williams was fired from a minor role in a fictional season of Ryan Murphy's series American Horror Story after he delayed production. Twilight star Greene played a heightened version of herself and was Simon's co-star on the aforementioned set.

Speaking about her experience in Wonder Man, Greene told Collider that playing an exaggerated version of herself felt weird, something she does not recommend. She said that playing herself in a limited capacity felt bizarre because the divide between actor and character was not present. She told Collider,

"I think it's kind of the same thing where it's, if you enjoy playing a character, there's a certain kind of barrier you have doing that. So it's just a weird thing to be like, 'How do I do that? How do I say that?' So, it was quite weird, but it was very fun."

Ashley Greene wasn't initially planned to appear on Wonder Man

Did you know Twilight star Ashley Greene was not planned to appear alongside Simon in Wonder Man? The casting director contacted Greene after an actor had dropped out of the role. Greene told Collider,

"And so I just kind of ended up filling in for someone who couldn't do it."

She told Collider that she was not aware of the actor she replaced. However, Greene seemed grateful for the experience, and being a part of the MCU canon was a dream-come-true moment. She also revealed that none of her Twilight colleagues knew about her joining the superhero series. Rathbone, who was also part of the reunion panel, said that he was stunned to see Greene in the series. He also said that he was bummed that Wonder Man was not returning for a second season.
