Law Roach, a celebrity stylist, has spoken up about why his professional relationship with Keke Palmer did not work out, stating that the actress once informed him that while he may be one of the best stylists in the world, he was not the ideal stylist for her. Law Roach told Emma Grede during an appearance on Aspire:

"It was a business decision that she should have made."

Law Roach shared the anecdote during a conversation about his book, How to Build a Fashion Icon: Notes on Confidence from the World's Only Image Architect on the latest episode of Aspire, which aired on October 20, 2026. Despite their professional differences, he emphasized that their friendship remained strong. Roach said on a discussion panel on October 2, 2024, where Keke Palmer was also present:

"So when me and Keke started working, we worked together years and years and years ago. It didn't quite work out, but we always loved each other. It was always love. It was always love."

Why did Law Roach stop styling Palmer?

Law Roach claimed that he resumed working with Palmer while she was pregnant with her son, Leodis "Leo" Andrellton, whom she welcomed in February 2023.

At the time, the stylist aimed to create outfits that embraced her pregnancy and highlighted her baby belly. However, his idea didn't match what Palmer wanted to wear or how she wanted to present herself publicly. Roach explained:

"And I'm like, 'Oh, let's show the baby bump. I'm bringing all these clothes and I could never get the clothes right.' "

He then revealed some notable advice Palmer provided him during that time:

"And one time she actually called me, she said, 'You might be the best stylist in the world, but you're not the best stylist for me.' I f***ing love it."

Palmer, who was there during the panel discussion, responded amusingly:

"Law lives for a drag."

Law Roach agreed that Palmer was correct to speak up about the gap between his vision and her desires:

"I love it, I love it. But she was right though because in my mind I had this idea of how I wanted to present her. I wanted her to be proud of the baby bump and show it off. And it was her personal prerogative, she didn't want to give it to the world yet."

Although their professional partnership did not work out, Law Roach emphasized that they had a lot of affection for each other. He described their connection as one based on love and stated unequivocally that Palmer's decision did not affect how he felt for her.

Roach's clientele includes celebrities such as Zendaya, Ariana Grande, Celine Dion, and Anya Taylor-Joy. He is well recognized for his longtime collaboration with Zendaya, whom he has styled since she became a Disney Channel star in 2011.

Zendaya's memorable looks for the Dune: Part Two press tour, as well as her Cinderella-inspired gown for the 2019 Met Gala, are examples of their collaboration.

Law Roach's book, How to Build a Fashion Icon: Notes on Confidence from the World's Only Image Architect, combines personal experiences with practical advice on creating confidence and personal style.
