Bodycam footage related to Kodak Black's May 2026 arrest in Orange County, Florida, has surfaced, revealing the rapper peacefully finishing his meal while police officers waited to take him into custody.

Kodak Black, whose real name is Bill Kapri, can be seen sitting inside a car wearing a green jacket and red pants. Rather than being hauled away, the rapper seems to finish his meal while officers stand nearby. The interaction continues calmly until he is arrested.

The arrest followed an investigation that began in November 2025, when police reacted to reports of gunshots in an Orlando neighborhood.

Why was Kodak Black arrested?

According to the police report, authorities discovered a crowd gathered around numerous parked luxury automobiles, including a Lamborghini SUV affiliated with Kapri.

On May 6, 2026, an officer had allegedly noticed a white substance on a $100 bill inside the vehicle and detected the smell of cannabis, causing police to examine the Lamborghini.

Authorities reported that they discovered a pink bag containing MDMA, around $37,000 in cash, and other documents in Kapri's name. Investigators added that the bag and some of its contents resembled objects seen in a photograph Kodak Black uploaded on Instagram.

According to ABC News, authorities also allegedly discovered cannabis and a container with a pink substance that tested positive for MDMA. Kapri denied ownership of the bag and its contents. However, investigators said he attempted to have the cash returned to him, claiming it belonged to his business. The report mentioned:

"Everyone on scene was asked if the bag or its contents belonged to any of them, and all denied ownership, including Bill Kapri."

It read:

"When Kapri was informed of the money in the bag, he attempted multiple times to have the money turned over to him, claiming it belonged to his business. Kapri, however, would not claim the bag or any of its contents."

Kodak Black pleaded not guilty

Kapri was booked into Orange County Jail on May 6 on a felony charge of trafficking MDMA. He entered a written plea of not guilty and asked for a jury trial. He was eventually released on a $75,000 bail.

Kodak Black's May arrest was not his only brush with law enforcement that year. According to NBC Miami, the rapper was detained again in Broward County on May 14 and charged with escaping and attempting to avoid law enforcement, as well as resisting an officer without violence.

Kodak Black has had various legal issues in recent years. In 2023, he was arrested after police discovered him asleep behind the wheel, with officials originally mistaking a white material around his mouth for cocaine. A later laboratory test confirmed the substance as oxycodone, for which he had a prescription.

The incident violated his probation from a previous case, so he spent two months in jail. He was also arrested in 2022 on oxycodone charges and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.

Despite his legal issues, the rapper has had a successful musical career. The rapper has sold over 30 million singles, and his 2022 hit Super Gremlin peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
