The Night Agent Season 4: Everything we know about the Netflix thriller's upcoming season

The third season of The Night Agent proved to be everything fans wanted: high stakes, political chaos, and Peter Sutherland running toward danger instead of away from it. But as the season has ended, there are already talks in the air of a fourth season that will continue Sutherland's adventures.

While Netflix has not officially confirmed a fourth season, the signs behind the scenes suggest that Peter’s journey may be far from over. Here's everything we know about a fourth season for The Night Agent.

Has a fourth season for The Night Agent been confirmed?

While there have not been any proper confirmations from Netflix, creator Shawn Ryan has talked about how a writers room already came to be in 2025. Scripts are already being drafted and storylines are actively being shaped, which means that the season is being planned.

Speaking to Deadline, Ryan said,

“Season 4 is not officially picked up yet, but a while ago, in calendar year 2025, they did quietly pick up a writers room. We’ve been working for a while on the storyline. We have some scripts, we are breaking stories. I think you know from the tax credit, there’s a date by which you need to be filming by; there’s time for us at the moment.”

Talking about Netflix's decision, he continued,

“To Netflix’s credit, they want to make sure that the creative side of things is always buttoned up before committing that amount of money. We’re in the story-breaking, script-writing phase, and my guess is, sometime in the next [few weeks, up to a month], they’ll make a decision about officially greenlighting Season 4, and if and when they do, we’ll be ready to go with the scripts so that there’s not that much time between Season 3 and Season 4."

What could The Night Agent Season 4 be about?

As for the plot, Season 3 ended with Peter choosing to step away from nonstop crisis management. After exposing corruption that reached the highest levels of government, he admitted he needed balance in his life. It felt like a rare moment of calm for a character constantly under pressure. Still, the final scene made it clear that the calm may not last.

FBI Deputy Director Aiden Mosley hinted that he might have found a potential partner for Peter. Talking about which, Ryan has said that it's a "launching pad" for the future season. For now, we await more details and confirmation from the streamer, but from everything we know, the fourth season is almost certain.
