HBO and Sky Television's upcoming legal drama, War, starring Dominic West and Sienna Miller, will be released on October 1 and 2, respectively. Created by George Kay, this legal series will follow the lives of London's most powerful lawyers from firms Taylor & Byrne and Cathcarts & Sons as they clash over a pivotal legal battle. Season 1 will follow the divorce of British tech entrepreneur Morgan Henderson (Dominic West) and film star Carla Duval (Sienna Miller) as the legal firms race to secure victory for their respective clients.

At the London premiere of their upcoming legal drama, Sienna Miller and Dominic West weighed in on divorce. Speaking to the Associated Press on whether people would think of getting a divorce after watching War, Miller said,

"They might rethink a divorce."

West added that the series does not recommend couples getting a divorce. He advised couples to resolve differences outside the court. While the reporter asked whether living in different countries would help, West said that it was a great idea.

At the London premiere, Miller said that prenups defeat the purpose of a marriage. She told the Press Association (via The Standard):

"I feel like it kind of defeats the purpose of going into a marriage and making that commitment. But I also understand."

The series is set to explore how prenups are usually not legally binding or enforceable by courts in Wales and England. West called it a waste of time. West added that he loves legal dramas and, most importantly, the twists and turns they contain.

War was initially announced in 2025 when HBO teamed up with Sky for two seasons. Currently, Season 2 is in production, and Marisa Tomei, David Harewood, and Kelly Macdonald will guest star in Season 2.

War Season 1 will premiere on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 9 PM ET on HBO. Apart from Miller and West, Season 1 stars Phoebe Fox as Serena Byrne, James McArdle as Nicholas Taylor, Nina Sosanya as "Her Majesty" Beatrice "Queen Bea" Ubosi, and Pip Torrens as John Smallwood. It also features Archie Renaux as Jonathan "Johnny" Warren.

Season 1 will also be available in Italy, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, Austria, France, Asia, and Belgium. NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution is responsible for the global sales. It is produced by New Pictures, a Banijay Company, and Observatory Pictures, in association with Sky and HBO.

Speaking to Variety, Kay, who also serves as the writer and executive producer of the series, said that he was eager to go to a mainstream TV show. He added that he had previously worked on thrillers and crime shows, but now he is eager to do character-driven, high-end shows.

"I was thinking about doing this legal show because I love the idea that a case that you’re working on as a lawyer is a kind of metaphor for your own life, where you’re constantly bringing the personal into the professional."

Speaking about War, he added that it is about two high-end rival London law firms. He explained he wanted to do one traditional and older firm and another fresh, ambitious firm with fewer resources but full of smart characters.

"No one’s dusty, but there’s the traditional one, and there’s the modern one. Each season we can come back and reboot with guest star clients."
