Mika Abdalla stole the attention of the viewers in the first season of Off Campus with her presence as Allie. The intense dynamic that Allie and Dean share, though depicted on a smaller scale in the first season of the series, sets the stage perfectly for the second season, which will primarily be Dean and Allie’s season.

The two of them will navigate through their story, each with their own complications. It cannot be denied that Mika Abdalla’s performance as Allie left a lasting impact on the viewers.

The actor knows how to embody the layered character of Allie and does an impeccable job in delivering the depth of the character. Abdalla was also engaged to Jake Short, a fellow actor with whom she met on the sets of Sex Appeal. However, the two have now parted ways.

Though Mika Abdalla and Jake Short have parted ways, they “continue to support each other” and also “remain on friendly terms," as noted by a rep of the Off Campus actor.

The pair has also asked for “privacy and respect” regarding the split. The two of them were engaged for a year, and Jake Short’s manager had announced this news.

Mika Abdalla is now focused on Off Campus Season 2

Right after the release of the first season of Off Campus, besides the focus being on Hannah and Garrett’s relationship, viewers were also intrigued by Allie and Dean’s steady shift in dynamic.

At the beginning of the series, Allie is shown to be struggling with her relationship, which soon takes a turn after the two of them break up. On the other hand, Allie’s dynamic with Dean also started to shift as the two of them began to spend time together. Dean and Allie’s distinct natures brought forth a positive change in their dynamic.

By the end of the first season, it could be understood how impacted Dean was by Hannah. This set the stage for the second season of Off Campus, which will focus on the further growth of Dean and Allie’s relationship. Mika Abdalla is currently focused on filming the second season of the series.

Just as she says in a recent interview, noting that even though Dean and Allie’s storyline is teased in the first season, viewers want “a lot more”. She also noted her excitement about the second season. She also adds how all the books “build off of each other” and “are connected”.

As Off Campus Season 2 will shed light on Dean and Allie’s bond, Mika Abdalla is “looking forward to digging deeper into who Allie and Dean are”. In the first season, it is depicted that though Allie wants to be in love, it is not the same for Dean, as he chases a casual relationship.

However, by the end of the first season, after giving Dean the “assignment”, Dean understands that he has true feelings for Allie and does not do the “assignment”, while Allie chooses to do the “assignment”. The “fronts” that the two of them try to depict have slowly started to shift. According to Mika Abdalla, Dean and Allie are “kind of stereotypes themselves” and have a persona that is “kind of hard to crack through”.

The books provide a much deeper exploration of Allie’s character, which can be expected to be explored in the second season. Abdalla also adds that she wants to “dig emotionally” into this aspect of Allie’s character in the second season of Off Campus. It can be understood that both Dean and Allie show their “exteriors” in the first season, while the second season of the series will provide a deeper look into their characters.
