Netflix has provided fans with the first look into Luffy and the Straw Hat crew's new adventure this upcoming season by releasing the complete trailer for One Piece Season 2. Season 1 of One Piece received great praise from viewers and was widely discussed since its completion, but now, thanks to the trailer providing enough relevant clues, it gives many longtime fans an idea of what to expect from this season as far as how the story continues to develop.

One Piece Season 2's title, One Piece: Into the Grand Line, gives away an exciting part, the Straw Hat crew's entry into the Grand Line. As fans of One Piece know that the Grand Line is the most dangerous ocean within the One Piece Universe, featuring many wild islands, changing weather, and more. Brace yourselves for all the action that occurs within this part of the One Piece universe, as fans will get to see some of the amazing locations and characters that will debut live this season.

According to Joe Tracz, showrunner of One Piece, the final moments were essential for the Straw Hats to thrive on their collective and individual dreams throughout One Piece season 2. As the Straw Hats stay with one another in each port during the journey down the Grand Line, they will all have to face their own personal struggles in addition to relying on one another to continue progressing.

The crew travels through new islands and meets new allies in One Piece Season 2

Returning for the One Piece Season 2 are Inaki Godoy as Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. They will be exploring an assortment of classic islands depicted briefly in the newest trailer. However, we already know one of those islands will be Loguetown (the city where the pirate era started), while another will be Reverse Mountain (having a considerable height, with the water flowing up the slope, astonishingly).

They also reach Whisky Peak, an island that at first looks friendly to pirates. Little Garden appears as well, a place that looks like a land out of time, filled with ancient creatures. Another major place shown in One Piece Season 2 is Drum Island, which is cold, covered in snow, and famous for its doctors. All these places already hold special meaning for fans of the original story, and Season 2 seems ready to bring these settings into live action with great detail.

Tony Tony Chopper, a blue-nosed reindeer that can talk and has human-like traits, will be one of the newest characters in One Piece Season 2. He is widely perceived as a strong-willed character, but has a soft heart. The voice actress for Chopper, Mikaela Hoover, provided insight into Chopper's character; he attempts to hide his emotions from others, but is absolutely unable to do so when it comes to giving affection and love to those around him. Many fans consider Chopper the most lovable character in the One Piece series, and his popularity continues to rise with the excitement of fans for the live-action portrayal of Chopper.

The crew will also be introduced to the enemies known collectively as Baroque Works. Judging by the trailer, Baroque Works will provide numerous challenges for the Straw Hat Pirates in one manner or another. The group consists of: Mrs. All-Sunday, Mrs. Wednesday, Mr. 3, Mr. 5, Mrs. Valentine and Mrs. Golden Week. These characters are featured very briefly in the trailer, but they all appear to have strange abilities and present formidable threats.

Eiichiro Oda shares a letter ahead of One Piece Season 2

In celebration of the debut of the new trailer, One Piece's creator Eiichiro Oda has written to the fans through a letter expressing how many things they were able to see in season one will continue into the new season. In Oda's letter, he mentions Devil Fruit users, giants, adorable little creatures, and much more action, together with visual effects. He encourages the viewers to have fun with the experience as he believes it will be more exciting in live action.

Based on Oda's letter, he has a lot of enthusiasm about how the new season is going to turn out and he has helped the production team since season one. Oda's support is going to help ensure One Piece season 2 is consistent with the core of the original manga, but it is going to use live-action elements so that the stories can be told in new and different ways.

Catch the new season on Netflix on March 10, 2026.
