Fans have been eagerly awaiting news regarding the new series of episodes for Daredevil: Born Again, and they now have a positive sign for renewed hope in that area. Jessica Henwick, also featured in the original series of Marvel Netflix shows, recently stated that those who enjoyed the earlier Marvel shows will be "very happy" with Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, thus adding further anticipation for its arrival.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Henwick commented on the direction and creativity of the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again project. Although she does not return to her original role as Colleen Wing, she did take part in visiting the production while shooting at their production studio.

What she experienced while visiting gave Henwick more confidence that fans will be able to enjoy and relate to Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. She spent time talking with both cast and crew members and cited energy on the set as another reason for how much faith she has in what is being developed for the upcoming series. The word "incredible" was used multiple times by Henwick, which coincides with her great level of excitement about how this new series is going to turn out.

In addition, she said that seeing Charlie Cox in his Daredevil costume helped to jog her memory with many great moments from her past viewing experiences of the show. She expressed that it was emotional to know that he is still playing the character just like he did before. For all those who loved the original episodes of Netflix's Daredevil, her comments suggest that a lot of the spirit and style from those shows will be transferred into the second season of Daredevil: Born Again.

What does this mean for Colleen Wing and the rest of the old characters from Daredevil: Born Again?

Many fans were curious if Henwick was on the set for her role as Colleen Wing, with her previous character being in the Marvel Universe and in their connected world along with Netflix, but she stated that she will not reprise her role this season. Unfortunately, those who are disappointed because it appears her character's story was left open-ended at that point when they ended their previous series. After the second season of Iron Fist, Colleen became the new Iron Fist, so many people wonder where she ends up afterwards. This is how far along her character arc was told, and nothing has happened at the present date.

Another thought online has been that there is a chance that Danny Rand could come back in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, and that some people believe he is potentially training a student this time. There has, however, been no confirmation of any new characters or story lines yet; however, any potential for Danny's return without Colleen could create unanswered questions for fans regarding where both characters fit into the new timeline if he returns without her.

Still, Henwick's positive comments may help ease some of those worries. Even though she will not appear, she said that fans of the old Netflix shows will feel "very happy" with what they see. This suggests that Season 2 may still explore the wider world of the Defenders in some way, even if not every character returns right away.

What will Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again focus on?

Season Two of Daredevil: Born Again will pick up where Season One left off regarding how the Marvel series has developed since the end of Netflix's run. It is anticipated that the plot will feature Daredevil working against Mayor Wilson Fisk as he attempts to stop Fisk from having complete control over the city.

Some are stating that season two will showcase increased frequency of political tension and conflict between Daredevil and Wilson Fisk due to Fisk's growing power. This type of storyline was also present on the older Netflix show originally created by Marvel, which Henwick claims gives fans a sense of continuity from season one through season two.

There are claims that Jessica Jones will appear in season two, adding another layer of development for connecting to the previous shows from Marvel, as well as claims of Frank Castle returning, both of which are fueling continued interest among fans. People who enjoyed the street-level narrative tones found throughout the Netflix lineup should have some level of comfort knowing that the tone of the show, in season two, seems almost identical to the prior series.

Marvel TV and animation head Brad Winderbaum spoke recently about the themes of the show. He explained that the new season deals heavily with power. He said that Fisk's rise to authority places him in a new position on the world stage. He also said that a new character, played by Matthew Lillard, will join the story and challenge Fisk in surprising ways. These comments suggest that Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will include not only street-level fights but also a larger political world where many groups are fighting for control.

Daredevil will have to deal with threats from different sides, which puts him under even more pressure. This kind of struggle has always been central to the character, and it may be one reason Henwick believes fans will be pleased with what they see. The new season of Daredevil: Born Again will premiere on Disney+ on March 24.
