Our Beloved Summer narrates how a documentary shot in school a decade ago becomes viral again, bringing the people in it together once more. Choi Ung and Yeon-soo starred in the original documentary, which featured the first and last-ranked students in their high school. A decade later, when it begins to trend again, the duo is forced to team up once more.

Here are the main cast and characters of Our Beloved Summer:

1) Kim Da-mi as Kook Yeon-soo

Kim Da-mi played the character of Yeon-soo in the SBS K-drama. She was the top student in high school and always tried to live an independent life without relying on others. Now a PR expert, Yeon-soo is again asked to star in the sequel to the documentary, which will showcase what happened to the high school students a decade later.

10 years ago, while shooting the original documentary, Yeon-soo and Choi Ung fell in love and dated for five years. However, the relationship did not work, and they vowed never to cross paths again. But the prospect of a sequel documentary brought them together again and depicted how they dealt with the situation.

Kim Da-mi is known for her roles in popular K-dramas such as Itaewon Class, Nine Puzzles, A Hundred Memories, and recently appeared in the popular Korean movie, The Great Flood.

2) Choi Woo-shik as Choi Ung

Coming from a well-to-do family, Choi Woo-shik's character Ung did not have to struggle for money in Our Beloved Summer like Yeon-soo. While he ranked last in high school, Ung became a popular illustrator. Even when he appeared to be living a carefree life, Ung also had a caring, more observant side, which helps in connecting with Yeon-soo once more.

Choi Woo-shik is not an unknown name, as he has appeared in numerous acclaimed Korean movies, such as Train to Busan, Parasite, and K-dramas such as A Killer Paradox and Would You Marry Me?.

3) Kim Sung-cheol as Kim Ji-ung

Kim Sung-cheol played Ji-ung, a friend of both Yeon-soo and Ung, and also appeared in the original documentary. A decade later, he appears in a new role, tasked with directing the sequel documentary by his senior. Ji-ung knows what all happened between Ung and Yeon-soo, and knows directing a sequel will be the most complicated job, but still agrees to shoot it.

Kim Sung-cheol is another highly celebrated actor who has been a part of k-dramas such as Prison Playbook, Vincenzo, Hellbound, and, most recently, Netflix's Boyfriend on Demand.

4) Roh Jeong-eui as NJ

Roh Jeong-eui plays NJ, a K-pop idol, who is impressed by Ung's illustrations and also develops a crush on him. While she might look like a superficial celebrity, NJ tries to find true happiness in life and isn't afraid to confess to her feelings.

The South Korean actress has appeared in K-dramas such as Angel Eyes, Live Up to Your Name, Pinocchio, and, most recently, Our Universe.
