Ever since JJ's shocking death, Kiara and the Pogues were on a mission to kill Groff, avenge their friend's death, and recapture the Blue Crown, which would bring JJ back.Kiara eventually tracked him down to a stolen motorboat, while Hurricane Cassandra ravaged Kildare Island and Groff attempted to escape with the Royal Merchant Gold.Kiara asked him the million-dollar question: Why did he kill JJ when he had handed him the Blue Crown? To this, Groff replied:“You have things I’ll never have. That’s what he said. You all do. And I can’t have it.”This was Kiara's cue to stab Chandler Groff with a knife. The pair's physical confrontation took place amidst torrential rain, extreme winds, and tumultuous waves. The Outer Banks Season 5 finale took a turn when Kiara gained the upper hand and raised Groff via the ship's mast, leaving him dangling in the air. While Zac and Driss tried their best at splitting the girls from the boys, Rafe and the boys managed to save the girls. Later, Finch placed a gun in front of Zac and Driss, offering to recruit one of them into the Corsairs. In a race against time, Zac managed to grab the weapon first and killed Driss in an instant.In the Outer Banks Season 5 premiere, the Pogues discovered that Groff had secured a meeting with Dr, Craig to authenticate the Blue Crown. However, Groff was unaware that Dr. Craig worked for Finch, and she slipped away with the ancient crown. While Dr. Craig kept her end of the bargain, Finch's men executed her (by shooting her in the head) when she demanded payment, and they fled with the Crown.Rounding out the death count for Outer Banks Season 5 are Tevi & Roberto, Julio's men, who were killed by Dalia. A minor storyline saw John B steal from a dr*glord named Julio, who sent his men Tevi and Roberto to catch the pair.
