Paradise Season 2, the sophomore entry of Hulu's Emmy-nominated post-apocalyptic political thriller series, has finally returned on the small screen. The second season debuted with a 3-episode premiere, which is now streaming on Hulu. The second episode is titled 'Mayday' and it focuses on the aftermath of Xavier Collins' trip to the outside world in search of his wife, Teri.The final moments of the Paradise Season 2 premiere saw Annie Clay coming across an unconscious Xavier at a crash site. The second entry charts out Xavier's journey and reveals exactly how he ended up in Graceland.Here is the complete recap of Paradise Season 2 Episode 2.Here's what happened in Paradise Season 2 Episode 2After spending the Paradise Season 2 premiere with Annie, we finally return to the protagonist, Xavier Collins, who was headed in search of his wife in the final moments of the Season 1 finale. While Xavier was given a small plane to fly out of the bunker and into the outside world, his trip was far from pleasant. Xavier's plane struggles with harsh weather and he is plunged into a brutal storm. After a crack in the windshield and losing an engine, the Secret Service agent eventually crashes on the ground. Thankfully, Xavier is still alive but his knee is brutally injured.However, a 2004 flashback (when Xavier was in the early stages of becoming a Secret Service Agent) revealed that it was not the first time he had injured his knee. During training, while Xavier was running the course, he had an injury on the same knee. In addition to surgery, he also dislocated his knee, which is why the agent knows how to pop it back. Before he could have popped his knee into place, he was interrupted by a young boy named Daniel, who fished through his bag. As Xavier struggles with the kid, they hear strange-looking men approaching them. The agent realizes he has crashed in Arkansas, which is a dangerous territory. However, Daniel comes to Xavier's rescue and takes him to his old RV and introduces him to some other kids.Paradise Season 2 Episode 2 shifts to Xavier, who is now with Daniel and the other kids in the RV. When he spots a mysterious man lurking outside the vehicle, he decides to confront him. After a brutal battle, Xavier finally gets the better of the man but is attacked with a knife on his side in the process, which leaves him unconscious. Upon waking up, Xavier finds himself fully patched up and inside the RV, but Daniel and the other kids ran off with his bag and jacket, leaving him alone in the woods. As the agent was trying to return to the crash site, an open wound resulted in major blood loss, and he passed out where Annie found him in the previous episode. Initially, Annie is attentive towards Xavier and nurses him back to health. However, she turns defensive when Xavier wakes up and starts shooting her with questions about his wife and children. This is when Xavier reveals that his children are safe in the Colorado bunker and he is on his way to Atlanta to rescue his wife, Teri. The 2004 flashback also reveals that Xavier and his partner first met in a hospital, where he was awaiting knee surgery. As Xavier and Teri bonded while waiting in the unlikely place, they fell in love.Time was running out for Xavier in Paradise Season 2 Episode 2 and he had to leave for Teri. However, the mention of the Colorado bunker ignited hope in Annie and she was determined to be reunited with the father of her child, Link.
