Hulu's Paradise Season 2 ended with a finale that had shocking outcomes and the death of a major character. No one saw it coming that Julianne Nicholson's character, Sinatra, would sacrifice herself at the end of Season 2.

In the finale, Sinatra decided to stay back and close the bunker to save everyone from the radiation after the nuclear explosion. While talking about her character's death to TVLine, Nicholson stated:

"I don’t think she’s thinking - I wasn’t thinking - that she’s going down with the ship because she thinks she might be able to come back. I think it’s more selfless than that."

More on this in our story.

Paradise Season 2 finale: Sinatra is dead, but we might still get a glimpse of her in Season 3- here's how

In the final Episode of Paradise Season 2, Sinatra visits Alex, a quantum supercomputer, who reveals that Nicholcon's character will not be able to get out of the bunker alive. All of this happened because of Alex's prediction. The supercomputer is revealed to have gone rogue, manipulating time and creating anomalies like Link, suggesting that he is indeed Sinatra's son.

While speaking with TVLine, the actress shared that it was a "selfless act" by Sinatra, who believed Alex's prediction and wanted to protect Dylan, which she couldn't do earlier. Not just Nicholson, but creator Dan Fogelman also revealed in The Los Angeles Times interview about Sinatra's tragic fate and stated:

"It’s very hard to survive a mountain collapsing on top of you. I think that it’s very fair to say: Yes, Sinatra is done."

However, this might still not be the end for Sinatra, as Nicholson also revealed in the TVLine interview that she would love to be a part of Season 3 in any way possible. Furthermore, writer and EP John Hoberg also stated in a TV Insider interview that Sinatra will be part of Season 3 through flashbacks. He said:

"You’ll see her again in flashbacks for sure. What we really want to do, because we’ve known this as a three-season arc, is we’ve had a lot of time to think about how to end this and for it to be a really satisfying ending. I think you’ll be satisfied. The people you want to see, you’ll get a glimpse of again."

More about Paradise Season 2 finale

Apart from Sinatra's shocking death in the Paradise Season 2 finale, viewers also got Alex's origin story. It all began nine years before the present events, when Link had given a small AI-quantum computer to Henry, who scaled it up and made Alex, the supercomputer. However, he soon realised the threat Alex posed as it began to manipulate time and events. While he wanted it to be shut down, Sinatra chose to keep it running and killed Henry instead.

Furthermore, as Sinatra's sacrifice saves the people's lives, she also instructs Xavier on how to protect them in the coming years or weeks. She tells him to go to the bunker underneath Denver Airport and follow Alex's instructions to save everyone from the impending apocalypse.
