Paradise Season 2 is just twenty-four hours away. As that happens, many fans are wondering about Samantha “Sinatra” Redmond's fate. For the uninitiated, the season 1 finale ended with Driscoll shooting Redmond non-lethally. We last see Sinatra in the last act of the season 1 finale, she is recovering in a hospital bed after being shot. This has some wondering for a year whether Redmond, a major character from the first season, was dead. Turns out, she will be returning for Paradise Season 2, as Jane Driscoll non-lethally shot Sinatra. The Paradise creator, Dan Fogelman, himself confirmed that Julianne Nicholson will return as Sinatra last year.Paradise Season 2: Does Sinatra die in Paradise Season 1? View this post on Instagram Instagram PostSeries creator Dan Fogelman, along with the cast and crew of the series, sat down with The Hollywood Reporter last March as the Paradise Season 1 finale. That interview began with Sinatra's fate in the season 1 finale and what it meant for Paradise Season 2. The Hollywood Reporter interviewer asked Fogelman the following question:"First, what can you tell us about Sinatra’s fate? We last see her breathing but unconscious, and hooked up to a ventilator in a hospital bed."For this question, Fogelman discussed Sinatra’s fate and also teased her storyline for Paradise Season 2:"She’s incapacitated. But Julianne is going to be in the show next year, and she’s not going to be in a bed the entire season. However Sinatra, like any delicious leader, even when she’s a step behind the curve and losing control, she always seemed to find a way out of it and regain control. What you’re seeing at the end of the season is Sinatra at her lowest point. She’s lost control. She’s physically incapacitated. This crazy young woman [Jane] is hovering over her and so the question of season two is: How does she come back to center? How does she try to regain power? Is she able to? Do the turn of events cause a change in her? Those are all the large questions on the table."Hearing this answer, the THR reporter asked Fogelman if that meant Sinatra was in the second season:"Oh, absolutely. Yes, yes, absolutely. Before you came on for this interview, I was just pitching Julianne some giant stuff from season two, all out of order and complicated (laughs). But yes, it’s fair to say that Sinatra remains the driver of this bunker city and as we get into season two down below [in the bunker], there’s a bigger story and mystery that involves this city that Julianne’s character has been at the forefront of the entire time. So there’s a lot more to be revealed."Therefore, it is not surprising that the marketing campaign for the second season confirmed that Julianne Nicholson is back. What do we know about the upcoming season? View this post on Instagram Instagram PostThe first season ended with Xavier Collins heading out of the bunker to reunite with his supposedly alive family. So the second season is set to be Collins overcoming difficulties to reunite with his loved ones. The official logline of Paradise Season 2 reads:"Xavier searches for Teri out in the world and learns how people survived the three years since The Day. Back in Paradise, the social fabric frays as the bunker deals with the aftermath of Season 1, and new secrets are uncovered about the city’s origins."It should be noted that Dan Fogelman confirmed in the same THR interview that he has a three-season idea for The Paradise. He said:“We have this very precise three-year plan, and this next season coming is kind of the middle episode of our trilogy with also its own beginning, middle and end. We have a three-season story that’s bigger than what people think it is right now, and it’s going to span a couple of genres.”However, it should be noted that, as of now, Hulu has not officially greenlit Paradise Season 3.Consisting of eight episodes, Paradise Season 2 will stream on Hulu for a month between tomorrow and March 30, 2026.
