After a successful Season 2, Paradise is set to return for a final Season with more twists and turns, which will also address the time travel theory, which Season 2 did not dive into.

During a recent interview with Variety, Sterling K. Brown revealed that this might be Paradise creator Dan Fogelman's version of exploring the "multiverse," which we have seen in numerous films and shows. He said:

"I think this is Fogelman’s exploration of the multiverse. Any show that’s dealing with genre and science fiction or whatnot eventually loves to play around with the idea of, is time travel a possibility?"

More on this in our story.

Paradise stars talk about "multiverse" and shifting dynamics in Season 3

Paradise Season 2 has been hinting at the time-travel theory throughout several episodes ahead of the finale. It is revealed in the finale that Alex, the supercomputer, is behind everything related to it. Since its creation nine years ago, Alex has been manipulating time and creating anomalies, such as Dylan/Link, which suggests the existence of a multiverse in the Paradise Universe.

While speaking to Variety, Brown stated that this might be Fogelman's version of the multiverse and also talked about how different projects, such as the MCU, Back to the Future, or Everything Everywhere All At Once, have used this concept before. With respect to that, he also hinted at what kind of direction Paradise Season 3 will head when it comes to time travel and said:

"Now that this is introduced into our world, I think the question is, what do you really want? Do you want to go back? Do you want to move forward and leave it alone? Is it too mysterious to play with, to even tinker with, or is it too compelling to not? And different people have different decisions to make based upon where they are in life at that particular time. And you’ll see how that plays out over the course of Season 3."

Apart from the time travel theories, another crucial development in Paradise Season 3 would be the dynamic between Link and Xavier. In the Season 2 finale, Xavier was tasked by Sinatra to visit Alex in the second bunker in Denver Airport to follow Alex's instructions and protect everyone from another apocalypse. Link, on the other hand, wants to shut down the supercomputer as he thinks everything wrong around them is because of the AI.

Furthermore, with Xavier's vision about going together to see Alex and bringing his daughter unharmed to him also suggests an important camaraderie between the two. Whether it will be a good thing or not, Season 3 will answer. In the Variety interview, Thomas Doherty, who plays Link, talked about this and stated:

"I think that they’re cut from a very similar cloth, but I think Xavier is a lot more settled as a human being. He’s older, he’s more experienced, he’s got more composure; whereas, where we leave Dylan, he’s still kind of full of spunk and full of justice."

He further added:

"It’ll be quite interesting for him to be around someone that shares very, very similar beliefs, but is also more of a realist than him. Is Dylan gonna learn from him, or is he gonna fight against Xavier?"

Paradise EP, John Hoberg, also said in the Variety interview that Season 3, which will begin filming on April 7, will answer many of the questions raised at the end of Season 2.
