Phantom Lawyer Episode 15 recap: Gi-jung reveals all about Yoon's case

In the previous Episode of Phantom Lawyer, Yi-rang decides to let his father, Gi-jung, remember all about his life. In Episode 15, Gi-jung recalls his memories but refuses to accept himself as a corrupt prosecutor. When Yi-rang asks about Mr. Yoon's case and why he drove him to s*icide, Gi-jung is shocked as he was sure Yoon would have never taken his own life.

He told Yi-rang that after he dismissed the first case against Yoon, he suddenly received many complaints from students and colleagues alleging that he was abusing his power. However, Gi-jung knew something was wrong, and he conveyed the same information to Yoon.

He further shared that Yoon was hell-bent on proving his innocence and had also gathered evidence by recording the conversation between the corrupt lawyer and one of his students' parents. He was supposed to share the evidence with Gi-jung, but unfortunately, both of them died the same night, with their reputation fully destroyed.

Yi-rang suggests that since Byeong-gil was the only person who knew about everything, he might also be involved, but Gi-jung refuses, as he trusted his senior.

While Yi-rang learns about the case from his father in Phantom Lawyer Episode 15, Do-kyung also confronts his own father. However, unlike Gi-jung, Byeong-gil decides to keep some part of the truth hidden from his son.

He confesses to Do-kyung that he was indeed the corrupt lawyer who fabricated cases against Yoon. However, when Do-kyung asks if he is also involved in the death of Yoon and Gi-jung, Byeong-gil denies.

But a flashback scene shows that he had sent one of the Chinatown gangsters to kill both of them. He then injects drugs into Gi-jung's body, due to which everyone now believes that Gi-jung was an addict. He further placed false cases of corruption in Gi-jung's office, because of which Yi-rang's father's reputation was destroyed.

Do-kyung believes his father's story and begins plotting against Yi-rang, and also warns Na-hyeon not to get involved.

In the latest episode of the K-drama, Yi-rang also finds out that his mother knew his ghost client this time was Gi-jung, and had been waiting for him to share the information. She asks him about his whereabouts, and Yi-rang informs her that Gi-jung has decided to see his family after proving himself innocent.

Later, Na-hyeon also joins Yi-rang after her own investigation into the case, and as they both decide to hear what was recorded by Yoon, a fire breaks out in his office. Do-kyung had sent gangsters to burn Gi-jung's talisman and destroy any evidence Yi-rang had against his father.

However, with Gi-jung's help, Yi-rang gets rid of all the gangsters and saves the talisman and evidence from being destroyed.
