Apple TV's Pluribus added to the mystery with its latest episode, something its fans have learned to accept since the series premiere last month. The series follows Carol Sturka as she learns to navigate a world in which most of the world's population has been turned into a hive-mind. The fifth episode ended with Carol discovering something dark about the turned peoples' food source. The sixth episode continues from this major revelation and further complicates it by explaining the previous episode's revelation. This has some wondering if Pluribus will have a unique conclusion where Carol needs to accept the hive people, "the Others", and learns to co-exist with them."Carol shares a horrific discovery and learns new truths in the process. Mr. Diabaté lives life to the fullest in Sin City."Pluribus Episode 7: Release date and time: View this post on Instagram Instagram PostPluribus Episode 7, "The Gap", like the previous six episodes, will be available to stream next Thursday on December 11, 2025. View this post on Instagram Instagram PostThe sixth episode, "HDP", answers the cliffhanger ending of the previous episode. The thing that disturbed Carol the most was the dismembered frozen human remains. She realizes that these remains are the source of the liquid that Carol discovers is the Others' food. She decides to break this news to a fellow survivor. The survivor she goes to meet is Koumba Diabaté, who is in Las Vegas. While Carol doesn't get along with other survivors, Koumba does admire her and the two bond in this episode. As she arrives at the Las Vegas hotel, Koumba reveals that he is already aware of the Others' food source. Then comes the craziest moment of this episode: the John Cena cameo. He is the announcer on the TV that Koumba plays.Cena says that the frozen human remains she saw in Pluribus Episode 5 serve as the Others' food source, referred to as "HDP" (human-derived protein). The Others extract protein from these bodies. Cena also informs Carol that the hive-minded people are not fans of this but are forced to do so because they see even agriculture as a form of violence. He also assures Koumba and Carol that the humans won't be required to consume what the hive-minded people consume. This revelation subverts the expectations that the Others would be revealed to be a sinister group that would reveal its "real" sinister nature. Instead, the Others are open about it being a necessary evil and try to assure the survivors that they mean no harm. But the most important detail that Carol learns is that the hive-minded people will not turn her into one of them without explicit consent, despite discovering why the survivors did not turn. Carol immediately picks up the phone, calls the number, and informs the Hive-minded people that she does not consent to being turned. The hive-minded people accept this.As that happens, Manousos Oviedo leaves Paraguay and begins to drive towards Albuquerque.Six episodes of Pluribus are available on Apple TV. Binge them before the seventh episode, "The Gap", streams next week.
