Positively Yours finale recap and ending explained: A final emotional showdown between Jeong-eum and Doo-joon

Positively Yours dives into the heartwarming story of Doo-joon and Hee-won, two people from two different worlds, each with their own set of struggles, coming together to form a deep bond that grows through time. From the beginning of this series, Hee-won and Doo-joon’s dynamic, along with their respective characters, was quite different from what they eventually became at the end of the series.

Hee-won’s past struggles, along with her dynamic with her mother, left a chasm in her heart that affected her life immensely. On the other hand, Doo-joon’s past impacted him, affecting his mental health as well. In the finale of Positively Yours, things take a difficult turn because of Jeong-eum’s arrival.

A final emotional showdown between Jeong-eum and Doo-joon in Positively Yours finale

The finale of Positively Yours starts with Jeong-eum crashing the family meeting. She begins to lash out at Doo-joon while also creating a scene about her father-in-law’s behavior towards her. She does not want Hee-won’s mother to have a positive impact on Doo-joon’s family. She tries her best by saying many hurtful things to Doo-joon while also blaming him for the death of her husband.

Her plan to sabotage the meeting is ruined as both Doo-joon and Hee-won stand up to protect each other. The meeting ends in a complex manner with Doo-joon’s father leaving midway. Doo-joon and his mother apologize to Hee-won’s mother.

Though Hee-won expected that her mother would not accept her relationship with Doo-joon, she was surprised by her mother’s words. Her mother tells her that seeing Doo-joon stand up for Hee-won and Hee-won doing the same depicts that they will be there for each other. She notes that this is the main requirement for a good marriage.

She gives her blessings to Hee-won, which makes Hee-won extremely happy. Later, Doo-joon informs Hee-won that he will also be apologizing to Hee-won’s mother. However, Hee-won tells him that her mother has accepted the situation. She informs him that Doo-joon’s protectiveness towards her was the reason.

This episode of Positively Yours progresses with Jeong-eum understanding that Doo-joon is winning. She is not able to make him suffer as she had initially planned. On the other hand, Doo-joon keeps planning to propose to Hee-won. He searches for proposals that could make Hee-won happy.

This episode of Positively Yours progresses with Hee-won receiving immense appreciation from her colleagues for her work. They are also eager to know whether Doo-joon proposed to her or not. However, Hee-won tells them that Doo-joon might not propose. While discussing with Mi-ran, she informs her about the type of proposal that would make her happy, which Doo-joon hears.

Mi-ran informs Doo-joon that he should follow the type of proposal that Hee-won wants instead of doing an elaborate proposal. Doo-joon, however, worries about his inability to hold hands, as it might affect the proposal. Doo-joon’s mother arrives at his house to tell him that losing his brother was not his fault and that he should visit his brother’s columbarium.

This episode progresses with Jeong-eum’s situation getting worse as her date of trial approaches. Her daughter, Se-hyeon, arrives to tell her that she does not support her because of her harmful actions. This further angers Jeong-eum. Se-hyeon then visits Hee-won’s house to apologize to her.

She also tells her that she is worried about her uncle, as he did not visit her father’s columbarium, as he is carrying the burden of his brother’s death even today. Hee-won decides to take Doo-joon to his brother’s columbarium as a surprise on their date.

Doo-joon is finally able to open up about his struggles. This date strengthens the bond Doo-joon and Hee-won have. As Mi-ran, Min-wook, and Ko prepare for Doo-joon’s proposal, things take a turn for Doo-joon. He gets a call from his niece to meet. The moment he arrives to meet her, Jeong-eum drives her car towards him with the motive to kill him.

However, right at that moment, Se-hyeon arrives. Jeong-eum is watching her daughter trying to stop the car; however, the scene cuts. Hee-won receives a call from the hospital. She rushes there thinking that Doo-joon has been gravely injured. However, Doo-joon is unscathed.

It is then revealed that Jeung-eum was able to stop the car before it could hit Doo-joon. This episode of Positively Yours progresses with Jeong-eum understanding her mistake in blaming Doo-joon for her husband’s death. She visits Doo-joon’s office to apologize for her actions.

Doo-joon visits Hee-won at the office to finally propose to her. Hee-won is extremely happy with the way Doo-joon proposes. At the end of this episode of Positively Yours, Hee-won gives birth to a daughter. Hee-won’s work is also progressing in a positive direction. The series ends with a happy note. Doo-joon and Hee-won’s family keep flourishing with happiness.
