Protection: NBC pilot drama gets Parenthood star Peter Krause on board in key role - here's what we know

NBC's upcoming pilot drama, Protection, has added a new cast member. Parenthood star Peter Krause is set to appear in NBC's Protection. Almost a decade after the hit NBC show Parenthood wrapped up, Krause is set to return to the network. He will play Mike Thornhill in Protection.

Quantico and Soundtrack creator Josh Safran leads the series as director, creator, and executive producer. Alongside Safran, Ben Spector and Jenna Bush Hager also serve as the Executive Producers of Protection.

The plot follows a US Marshal who falls in the line of duty. What initially seems to be a simple case turns into a deadly conspiracy. The Thornhill family ( a family of law enforcement officers) becomes the target of a mysterious killer. Can the family stop the mysterious killer before he/she hunts them down? What is the motive of the deadly assassin? Is it someone from the past?

The 9-1-1 star Peter Krause is set to play Mike Thornhill in Protection. As stated earlier, the show follows the Thornhill family (a family of law enforcement members) in danger. A mysterious assassin wants them dead. But the Thornhills do not back off so easily; they use their expertise that they have gathered during their years of service and are set to hunt down the deadly assassin.

As per TV Insider, Mike Thornhill is an Assistant Director of Intelligence. He is a former Secret Service Agent. It seems like he enjoys his profession and is a skilled agent. He's fun, lively, and an extrovert. But his carefree attitude at times causes problems.
